You DO NOT NEED Blunt Force, they are EASY to install and remove
The media could not be loaded. I usually ride clipped in but sometimes I want to practice manuals, wheelies and bunny hopping. I do not want to practice those moves with clips and I don't want to go through the hassle of changing out my pedals so I purchased these adaptors. I reviewed some of the other comments and read the instructions and they do say to use a "blunt instrument" but they do not say "blunt force". When they say to "press the reflector tab firmly in at A on the pedal", what they should add is to move the adaptor side to side like you are putting your shoe in the cleat. It pops right on. Then I took a screwdriver the width of the notch and gentle pried the pedal over the tabs, tightened the set screw and they worked like a charm. The platform is about half the width of decent flat pedals so I'm not sure I would want to downhill on them all day, but as a quick solution for converting clips to flats for an hour practice session, they work brilliantly. The plastic seems very hard and sturdy as well. It took less than 45 seconds to take them off and readjust the pedal tension screw to its previous setting. I highly recommend these. Check out my very brief video.

Function as advertised
These pedals fit snuggly as advertised. Follow the instructions and they are on or off in a few seconds using a screwdriver as a lever. They are fairly narrow, so not comfortable for a long ride, but work well for me for rides of less than 10 miles.

Thought they would be tool-less :-(
I guess I should have read a few reviews 1st. I occationally snap my shoes on to my padals so they end up at the trailhead along with my bike. I figured these peadal platforms would snap in as well but they actually require a tool to install. In addition one must back off the tension screw all the way to install them and then tighten the screw all the way so they stay in. You'll have to remember how many clicks you had them set to when you're done. Once these things are installed I found it akward to flip the pedal into position. The whole process takes less time than swapping out the SPD's for platform pedals but not a whole lot less. I'll give these things a try for a while but I'm afraid they will eventually end up in the bottom of my toolbox.

[3 Year Update] Only One Word, Transformative
Fits perfectly, made of decent quality plastic. Instructions are simple.*3 years later and they are still going strong. Nothing has been broken, fallen off, or gotten loose. After installing you can still ride clipless and they almost never get in the way. Take abuse very well. Plastic is holding up remarkably well. Pedal being slim allows for less accidental sliding on the pedals in corners. I imagine they will easily outlast the bicycle at this rate.

Seem good, didn't fit my pedals
This is more of a "tip" than a review, as I'll be returning the product as it's not compatible with my pedals. These are NOT compatible with the M530 pedals - I bought these at the same time as my pedals, so it didn't really occur to me that they wouldn't fit and aren't even really necessary since the 530s have a wider platform. This should be obvious to most people, but if you're getting SPD pedals for the first time like I was you might not realize it. It's not that the bit that fits in where a cleat would go is wrong, but there's a lip on each end hanging down which is blocked by the platform on the pedal. You can see in my picture it's also about as wide as the platform so it wouldn't be adding much besides a flatter surface with more traction.Otherwise these seem good, solid construction, look a lot higher-quality than they did in the picture for some reason. If I decide to ever switch to something like the 540 I may get these again. 4 stars I guess because it might help if the listing had a more visible chart stating which pedals are and aren't compatible.

Pro tip...
These are a pain to put in. I found that if you use a small flat head screw driver as a lever they are much easier to install or remove. Screwdriver head should be the width of the slot on the back of the adapter. Put the front of the adapter in the pedal then use the screwdriver as a lever to open up the pedal by placing it in the slot. It becomes obvious once you are looking at it. Hope that helps.

Not a simple process to install
I would avoid these if you are looking to regularly swap to and from SPD shoes. Not at all easy to snap on.
