Rupes rocks for polishing!
I have been detailing cars as a hobby for years on and off. I've used rotary buffers and Porter Cable DA's among others. Nothing has ever been effective as the Rupes system nor nearly as fast and efficient. The picture of the blue truck door has a blended spot in the middle where paint was added over filler. It was obvious when I got it back from the body shop. I did no sanding at all, I just hit it with Meguiars 105 compound on the Rupes coarse pad then went back over with the green polishing pad and Meguiars 205 polish and it completely removed the visual imperfection of the blend plus all the swirls. This pad is like a polishing bulldozer. The trick to it is work on one section of a panel at a time (about half a door worth), then blow out the pad with compressed air. Add five dots of product and work the next section. The black car had an ok at best single stage paint job. I used only his coarse pad and M105 on it and got that result. It easily took that car from being a 20 foot car to a 10 foot car.

Firm, rough, HEAVY cut pad.
I bought this to be my base for microfiber bonnets when removing wax or sealant on my cars. I did not buy it for paint correction. It works great for my intended purpose. The 7" diameter is good for the 6" microfiber bonnets. It keeps them tight so the buffer pad doesn't just spin inside the bonnet. I've had that issue in the past using 6" pads or softer finishing pads inside the 6" bonnets. I may buy a Rupes Green pad which should be a touch softer, just to see if it still works. This is firm enough that I am worried about how well it will flex and conform to the body lines as I'm trying to buff off wax or sealant residue. This pad is very firm and very coarse. I have a bunch of Lake Country CCS pads, Chemical Guys Hex-Logic pads, and Lake Country microfiber cut/polish pads. Compared to a Lake Country CCS Orange the Rupes Blue is sand paper rough. It's the firmest, roughest pad I've ever purchased This is a HEAVY correction pad. Unless you've done major body work and need to polish out actual sanding marks I don't think this is the pad you need.

Works great!
I own a detailing shop. Worked perfect on 1 vehicle so far with no sign of wear. Make sure to prime well as it is very stiff out of box.
