Stonescaping Idea Book (Taunton's Idea Book Series)

This book has a lot of information on different aspects of stonescaping. Stonescaping goes over paths and steps with lots of good information. Then it covers terraces,patios and garden spaces. Then it has examples of dry stone walls and mortared walls. I would like to try dry stone walls, they look real neat. Next this book covers landscaping features. Stone benches,stone bridges and sculptures. Next there are water features,pools,ponds and fountains. There are many things in this book that I want to try. This is a very good book with so many projects to do that everyone can find something to achieve. This book is highly recommended.

Book was fine, I was hoping for more info on dry river bed creation.

This book has color pictures on almost every page with almost every type of stonework imaginable. If you need ideas or just pictures of different types of stonework, this book should cover that information. Topics covered include paths and steps, terraces, patios, garden spaces, poolside spaces, dry and mortared stone walls, benches, landscaping features, sculptures, pools, ponds, streams and waterfalls, water fountains, entryways, driveways, and borders. A nice book to own for creating an abundance of ideas, however, this is not the book you want if you are looking for step by step do it yourself instructions.

i think this book is great! I lost my home in the Tubbs fire in Ca. This book has many ideas for my new yard. I found the pictures to be beautiful and the text to be clear also. Many thanks Linda

This was a gift for a family member who bought a house in a desert area. Although many of their neighbors had a lawn, water is very expensive, and they wanted to try something else. They're very happy with the book, and intend to implement some of the ideas.As always, Taunton press has turned out a very helpful 'idea book'.

good for ideas but could have flipped through it in the store

I found this book to be an interesting portrayal of many different ideas for using stone in landscaping. It's impossible to cover every use of stone, but seeing these examples while you are planning a landscaping project is very helpful. I got some great ideas while perusing its pages, and the color and quality of the photos was really good. Because I have a black thumb (opposite of a green thumb), working in stone is way more rewarding to me. Fortunately, my wife has a green thumb. I think you will enjoy this book.

I bought this book for my cousin's husband who is into DIY projects at home and he really liked it.

The whole range of Taunton Press Idea Books seem well thought out and put together, and this is no exception. The book is arranged into categories such as walls, paths, ponds, and more. Each page is filled with large colour photographs and a well written description rather than just simple labels. I have returned to this book numerous times now as I dream up the design for my new garden and every time it fills me with new and wonderful ideas. I would recommend it to anybody who is thinking of building with stone in their garden.

Great book , well-received by the guy I gave it t as an aid to work he does, but would also be good for anyone wanting to do something like it in their own garden if they are feeling a bit adventurous. It arrived punctually and in perfect nic.
