Q: How do I wore the inline fuse

The fuse holder comes with a loop of wire joining both sides of the fuse holder. This can be confusing. Simply cut this looped wire about in the middle and strip each of the newly cut ends. One of the ends you will join to your power source wire using a wire connector or soldering and covering with heat shrink tubing. The other end will be joined to the accessory power wire that you are attempting to power. If you are not familiar with joining wires or doing wiring in general, seek the help of someone who does know as you don't want to risk a fire due to poor wiring. Hope this helps.

Sorry for delay in answering- my computer was down for the last day. The wire size on the fuse holders I received is l6 gauge.

That If you are going to to install fuses on a 24 volt AC system the 24 volt power comes from either a 120 volt power source that steps your voltage down to the 24 voltage . It's called a 120 volt step down transformer. There are also 220/240 step down transformers as well . The fuse holders are made for ....12.VOLT DC SYSTEMS NOT AC. I WOULD NOT USE THESE FOR YOUR INTENDED PURPOSE !!!!!! There are fuse holders and fuses made for A C usage . The orange depot stores and other such stores have them in there electrical department . I WOULD NOT use any D C DIRECT CURRENT ITEMS ON A C ALTERNATING CURRENT. BE SAFð~ð~ð~AND NOT SORRY .ð~©ð~©ð~©

Q: I am thinking of using this in my home between a new light I'm gonna install off of an existing line.. Will this do the trick as back up safety?

I would say no. Service for this type fuse is only up to around 24 volts, and it is intended for DC use.. It wouldn't really be necessary to add a fuse in a home lighting situation. Even a 100 watt incandescent bulb will pull only a portion of an amp, and adding a few bulbs will not overload an existing 20 amp circuit, unless it is already way overloaded. Let me put it this way. If you can plug a lamp in on the wall where you want to put the new light, with the new bulb in it, without tripping a breaker, you should be fine.
