Good tool but socket set better
The GreatNeck does work as advertised in many situations but I would not buy it again.I purchased this tool because 3 spark plugs (of 6) I needed to change are inset under the intake manifold about 12 inches deep down a narrow access opening.I already had a socket set with which I replaced the 1st three plugs (much better access to them). My problem was that the old 5/8" plug-socket I normally use fits so snugly on the plug that, when trying to remove it, the socket would detach from the extension bar after installation and I had no means of reaching down through the access gap to pull the socket off of the plug. Kind of like working down a 12-inch long by 1 1/2-inch ID pipe. Therefore, I bought the GreatNeck. This tool worked great on 2 of the 3 remaining plugs. I needed every inch of its length to reach them, but it only worked where there was a nearly 14-inch straight line to access the plug. It is well made. It holds the plugs magnetically in the socket so you can pull the old plug out and feed the new into the threads without dropping them. The handle provides adequate leverage/torque for plug removal if the threads are not stubborn. However, this tool could NOT reach the 3rd plug where access was limited by the firewall as well as the intake manifold. Note: The GreatNeck socket is fixed to the extension and flexes on a single plane. To reach this plug, I needed a U-joint and shorter extension bar.So, I wound up using my old socket set, with modification: I used duct tape (yes indeed) to attach my old plug socket to my old 8-inch extension bar, and bench tested to make certain the tape would hold it together so I could pull the socket off of the plug after it was installed. I then added a U-joint and another 4-inch extension (without duct tape). With this I could reach the last plug. This plug was also stubborn and required a breaker bar, with some effort, to loosen.Even if the GreatNeck could have reached the last plug, its handle would not have provided the needed leverage to break the threads free for removal.I now have a single-use tool I *might* use again because it is faster than using a socket set. But, probably not often since I will need to use the old socket set anyway for any plug without a 14-inch (approximate) straight line access to reach it; or for those with stubborn threads. The GreatNeck could be improved by making the handle detachable and compatible with standard 3/8-inch socket sets (e.g., to attach a breaker bar or torque wrench). It would be further improved if a fixed U-joint were added about 6-inches up the extension bar. The plug socket could then be attached/fixed to the extension without the current single-plane flexing. Then again, I've just described improvements which would make this a 3/8" socket assembly. Why buy this specialized tool when the old socket set and a few cents worth of duct-tape worked better? The GreatNeck is a good tool, but for me it turned out to be an unnecessary purchase. If I changed out spark plugs on a frequent basis (like in a shop), I would likely use it often because it is faster.

Did the job wonderfully...
I was changing my spark plugs for the first time and needed an extended socket to get to the plugs. I had all of the tools except the extension and the 5/8 socket. i found this tool and gave it a shot. Glad I did, this thing made changing spark plugs a snap! The handle is a little bulky, (and I have huge hands) but the rest of the tool is perfect. The extension was a nice length and the 5/8 socket had a magnet inside as to keep the plug from moving when putting it in or taking it out. Highly recommended if you just need this 1 tool.

Needs better handle for hard-to-remove plugs
I wouldn't recommend this product even for the non-mechanic. Although it is easy to install the plugs the handle is too small for removing stubborn spark plugs. Unless you know for sure that you are able to remove your plugs with ease, then this tool would suffice.

Useless
Handle too small for leverage...

No Torque = No Good
The two main problems with removing spark plugs is 1) reaching it and 2) unscrewing it. Spark plugs have a tendency to get stuck due to often being used for a decade without change. This thing can reach it, but the tiny handle does not give you any mechanical advantage in twisting. So unless you have very loose or very new plugs, this thing is useless.

Great
Needed a few tools that I didn't have to change my plugs. This seemed to be an all in one so I tried it. It worked perfectly. This tool is great!

Sturdy
Haven't used it for the intended purpose but removed a lawnmower spark with easy - feels sturdy no regrets
