Use for making spice bags for pickles
There are likely lots of uses for these little bags but I used them as a replacement for "cheesecloth" to make spice bags for making pickles. Cheesecloth is so very expensive and these are a sensible, disposable option. I would recommend washing them before using them for food.(Note, you can re-use them, and I did re-use them when I made multiple batches during the same weekend, but I did not try to wash them or salvage them after use in pickling brine.)

Big bags
I must have not seen the size when ordering these. They are twice the size of the tea bags I have and too big for a cup.

Holds half as much as expected.
These don't hold much. When gently rinsed with warm water and a drop of soap before use (as instructed by the seller), these shrunk down to 3.4" by 5.1". Doing the math for the volume of a cylinder when filled, it holds only 55% of what I expected it to hold.So I needed six bags instead of three for my project.Similar to how a 12" pizza feeds 2 people and a 10" pizza feeds 1 person, shrinking these bags "a bit" means substantial losses when filling the volume of these little sacks.

Good quality. Just the right size. The weave is not too loose. Shrinks a lot when washed.
I use these for soup bags, and to cook pinto beans when I want to remove the onion, garlic and bay leaf, etc. These bags work perfectly for that purpose. I can think of lots of other uses too. The bags are natural linen color, and the weave of the cloth is not too loose. I recommend these bags. They do shrink a lot when washed, so take that into consideration when choosing the size you want.
