Brewing British-Style Beers: More Than 100 Thirst-Quenching Pub Recipes to Brew at Home (Fox Chapel Publishing) Handy Reference for English Styles including ESB, Stout, Lager, Ale, Pilsner, and More

A great but dated book.
This is an older book that has been out of print for a spell, but if you like brewing in the British style it is nice as a loose reference. At the time this book was written, there was not a huge range of English style yeasts available so not enough information was given on fermentation. The yeasts available at the time over-attenuated, so saccharine tablets were part of the recipes to impart back some sweetness (don't do that). Some of the recipes are vague in their grains or extract info. Again I suspect that there weren't that many options available to the home-brewer at the time this was written. I would reference crystal malt in the 80L range for most of these recipes though. With all that being said, it has earned it's place on my book shelf as a permanent resident.

this book is a copy of dave lines book "brewing beers like those you buy". Written in the 70's, it's recipes lack the application of modern ingredients. that said, I have made a lot of the recipes in the previous book and they are fairly accurate, although I have used modern liquid yeast etc.

Very comprehensive
My husband was thrilled with this book when he got it for Christmas. He had gone on a brewery course and they were referring to it.

dad liked it
Bought as a gift for my dad who is brewing his own, he liked the recipies and is trying a few out currently. Yet to be tasted but looks good so far.
