THE SIZING IS WRONG!
This is garbage. Nobody cares about nominal size vs actual etc - The bottom line is a 14 x 20 x 1 is a 14 x 20 x 1 regardless of brand. Except for this junk. Smaller than actual despite what is printed on the box. See the photo. Useless as the system whistles like a train through the big gaps.

Stay Away - Not True to Size!
I purchased a box of 6 of the 18x20x1 - Airx Dust filters and didn't think any more about it. Until today when I tried to install the first one from the box. The filter actually fell inside my furnace unit to the bottom! I had to get a hook to fish it out. The label says these are 18" x 20" x 1" and when you read closely it says the actual size (really?) is 17 1/2" x 19 1/2" x 3/4". Well the filter I used measured somewhat less than that; probably more closer to 17 1/4" x 19 1/4" x 3/4". The side rails inside my furnace unit stick out but 1/4" on each side; so there really is not much room to play with. If you are considering buying these filters, be sure to measure your unit to see if they will fit. Beware, the size may be a bit smaller than stated. I only wished I had tried installing one when the filters first arrived. My mistake!

Great filters for price.
Got tired of purchasing 15-25$ a piece for filters locally. Tried these filters and can honestly say they work just as good or better than the filters I had been buying (3m filtrate, varying Merv count.) My old furnace seems to struggle (could hear difference) with higher Merv count filters and these keep dust down in my house and don't seem to bog my furnace down. I'm on my second box and change 45-90 days, depending on season.

Merv8 unless your HVAC says different.
Update; I’m so glad that I read all the reviews and one person recommended not to go beyond a merv8 unless you know your system is made for a thicker filter as most HVAC systems aren’t made for the amount of resistance a thicker filter would put on it. I noticed as soon as I started using the merv8 a difference in the air circulation your system does work harder and I can’t imagine if I would have put a merv14 in instead. Without the advice from the other reviewer I might have broke my HVAC system. It always pays to read reviews and am so happy someone was smart enough to give that information. They work but do get dented (not much but does happen as other reviews have noted) in shipping.

Perfect fit
The 6 pack of HVAC filters arrived about 1 week after ordering. I installed one today and it fit perfectly. It's slightly more robust than the cheap one the HVAC repair man left us. Hopefully, it will work as well.I check the HVAC filter monthly, and replace it if necessary. Generally, in this rental house, I've needed to replace the filter every 1-2 months. This is the first time I've ordered this brand. If it doesn't perform well, I'll come back and update this review.Price was excellent, considering home depot is charge 3x the price for the same size and quality as these.Shipping package was in perfect condition, as are all 6 of the filters inside.

Correct Size 16X20X1
I found the size 16X20X1 to be correct. The filter has support on both sides. I considered this important since many of the other filters of Higher Price only have support on only one size. The dust retention is excellent for MERV 8. Since I just installed a New Trane HVAC home system this is the most important factor for my application. I consider these filter to be a great value.

Best for appropriate use.
Why don't people change their filters as often as they should? Why do they wait so long that dust and pet hair and everything else is preventing the filter from working and then blaming the air conditioner unit??? Filters are meant to be changed out at least once a month - you can go longer if you don't own a German Shepherd fur ball. These filters are perfect - they fit exactly inside my unit that clearly states 20x25x1 as the appropriate sized filter. A filter needs to have some "give" - enough give that you can get it in and out of the space for easy replacement. I have had no issues with these filters - no install issues and no performance issues. I don't get my tape measure out to see if they are exactly 20x25x1 because they aren't supposed to be. They are made to fit a 20x25x1 opening - and they do! They are a much better value than the ones in the local stores. I am so glad I finally changed out my four inch filter requirement. I will be purchasing more of these in the future and hope beyond all reason they don't change the price.

Gets the job done!
After receiving a comment from our HVAC guy that we should be using lower MERV rated filters but changing them more often, we tried out ordering these in bulk. They came in good condition and seem to be doing well. Just changed our the first one and everything seemed normal as far as dirt collected, and no issues with the furnace. It’s hard to comment it on its effectiveness, I have allergies that I have to watch out for but it’s also winter now so pollen is low. However the price makes me more likely to change my filter on a 2 month schedule instead of the 3 or 4. No reason to complain and I will reorder them.
