Q: How much heat can it take? Up to what degree?

Don't know degree, but I've set hot tea and cappuccino on them. If you're looking for nice durable coasters, these are it.

Q: Is it safe for use with borocilicate tea mug?

I'm not sure what kind of mug that is, but they are very strong and slip resistant. Best coasters I have ever had.

Q: What material is this made of? I am worried if my 18 month old throws it off the table if it will break

I think it's silicone. There's no way it will break but your child might have fun throwing it!!
