BEST quality therapeutic adult coloring books ever!!!!!
I am disabled in pain during all waking hours. I began using the Adult Coloring Books as a therapeutic means to help with pain and discomfort. So I found a book at a local store and my coloring began. I have purchased over ten coloring books in past two months and these books are by far the highest quality I have ever had. I gave the older books to grandkids to color because having purchased one of these I cannot use the use the others I have found. If you need distraction in your life and want to create a beautiful design (picture) which by the way is suitable for framing I would give these a try. I LOVE them and any other adult coloring books have a high standard to beat for me to purchase them. These are simply the best books I have ever used. Have Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wide variety of illustrations
This book has a wide variety of pictures. Patterns, animals, masks, people. All very cool. Outlines are pale and unobtrusive to the finished product. Some pictures are very intricate, others offer a simpler experience. Some comments have mentioned that the illustrations are too tiny. Speaking to that it is obvious that the illustrations were reduced to fit the pages of the book (roughly 6x6"), and some of the details have been made obscure. You could, I guess, plop one onto your printer/copier and enlarge it.

Top notch
Love all the Vive books. This turned out to be one of the best. I love all the varieties of masks- they are so inspiring and well drawn. Lots of opportunity to get creative here. I like this book better than “Japan” because it’s more creative and more fun in my opinion.

I purchased this book for the image on the cover, but was disappointed to find that this image is not contained in the book. This has been the same with the other books by vive le color. The images depicted on the cover are not included in the book. Very disappointing.

A beautifully designed book
If you're already familiar with the Vive Le Color! books, then you'll know that they are significantly smaller in size than most standard coloring books. Consequently, the illustrations are smaller in general. Plus, judging by the three that I own, the illustrators are fond of very very small, detailed illustrations. The illustrations themselves in the book series are uniformly beautiful; Africa is no exception. No, there are not a lot of animals; there are some animals, tribal masks, simple and complex geometric patterns, etc.The paper is heavy enough that some markers will not bleed through. The rhinoceros picture I've attached was my first less than successful attempt to work with markers and I found it challenging. Gel markers work, depending on the tip size. I used a combination of gel markers and Staedler .03 fine tip markers. I would not recommend strong alcohol-based markers like Prismacolor, sharpie, etc. Watercolor based markers such as the Sakura Koi would probably be fine. Colored pencils that you can sharpen to a very very fine tip will also work; I found my wax based pencils to be better with this than the oil-based.Whether or not you like this book will greatly depends on your comfort with very intricate designs. I find that I often choose one, begin it, and then need to put it aside for a while and come back. I like the design of the book itself; it's very easy to tear out the pages and there is a strong cardboard backing in case you choose to color directly on the book.I chose four stars instead of five only because of the size of the illustrations. While the pictures are all beautiful, there are so many that are very small and detailed that you have to really enjoy very intricate coloring in order to enjoy a good portion of this book.

African safari
Pictures are great. Make me think Africa all thru. The book is purse size, pages come off easily. There is heavy cardboard to provide support with coloring

Very disappointed.
Small is right! The pages are only 6"X6". The pictures themselves aren't printed very well; a number were missing inked outline sections and other were very pale in sections. The pictures aren't very interesting either. There are only 16 animal pictures, 15 African masks and 6 people pictures out of 72 total pictures. The rest are just random patterns. Very disappointed.
