Porlien Checker Pattern 13-inch Cake Stand, Cake Holder, Serving Platter

I am using it on a baker’s rack but will use for a cake (when I bake one) LOL

I have ordered both the round and the square dishes from this line and they were excellent. No complaints. In fact I was delighted! Don’t hesitate to order those.Sadly, this cake stand piece was defective as the base was attached off square so that it was totally misaligned. This tells me they likely have poor quality control.Additionally, look closely at the representative photos on Amazon. It shows the gold edging on two adjacent sides to be somewhat ornate, and the other two adjacent sides to be smooth and simple. They don’t match! 😱 Not sure I noticed the unmatched gold trim on the sides when I was ordering. It was easy to overlook in the photos, I mean, who does trim like that?! Don’t let your eyes play tricks on you. Look closely!In person The mismatches gold trim looks like a glaring error and quite stupid, like it was a mistake. It is not, though. It is intentional and part of the design element, perhaps meant to be whimsical, but it fails and instead looks odd.It may work for someone else, but doesn’t work for me. Just wanted to point it out to other potential buyers who might still wish to take a chance on getting an unflawed piece.The main problem with the piece I received was the incorrectly applied base.
