Kuryakyn6190 Premium ISO Handlebar Grips for Throttle and Clutch: 1997-2005 Honda Valkyrie Motorcycles, Chrome, 1 Pair

These are not a 5 star product at very best a 4. I have a 3 star and here’s why. Installing the throttle side they recommend on the directions that when the new grip slides on if it is not snug enough to wrap the throttle tube in electrical tape to ensure a more snug fit. First off, if I’m paying 80$ on a product it should fit snug to begin with. This product has been around for many years by this time you should engineer a product to have a much closer fit out the box. Second issue, the glue they put in is absolutely worthless. 3 hours later and I could still twist the clutch side grip. When installing the clutch side they recommend to slightly turn and push on quickly after applying adhesive. What happens is the rubber grips over the chrome start shifting and coming out of their grooves. I also didn’t really get a super high quality feel with these, they feel more plastic and light then a solid feel. Overall they are better then stock but I am definitely disappointed with this product. I put Avon grips on my 18 fury and they feel higher quality then these.

Pros: Great Looks, Quality, & Feel! My bike already had Kuryakyn grips on, but throttle side broke while trailering it to Honda shop. I was able to use my previous Throttle Boss with this grip, because the larger screws didn't get damaged when older grip broke!Cons: Having to take off the broken grip (same brand)...had to use Dremel tool to cut it from end to end... shaving off excess glued rubber on throttle sleeve, then sanding it down to clean it.WARNING: The GLUE DRIES SUPER FAST!!! FOLLOW DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!!! The pack brings TWO grips with DIFFERENT interior diameters...the bigger diameter is for throttle side! Make sure you measure where new grip(s) is going, how you want it to face, MARK IT so you can install correctly!

First off, I want to start this review by saying these are fantastic grips. They set your ride apart from the the other bikes w/stock grips. The grips are beautiful, functional, and very comfortable. These are the "Go-To" grips for high mileage riders, with gloves or without. I put these on my 1998 Honda Valkyrie the first week I got it new in July 1998 (my late wife bought the bike for me for my B-day). Recently on a ride the throttle side rubber just disintegrated under the chrome, I lost speed, pulled over, the chrome frame just slid off. I got home by just using the throttle sleeve under neath the grips. I contacted Kuryakyn via email to see if I could get a replacement rubber insert since the chrome parts were still in excellent condition and they promptly replied (great customer service) that these were only sold in sets. Now let me say that these are great grips and they are the only ones that I will use on my ride but don't count on parts support from this company.YES, I DID BUY ANOTHER SET(they are pricey but worth it), EVEN THOUGH I JUST NEEDED THE THROTTLE SIDE. I think if Kuryakyn was more in tune with the customer they would have a greater market share.The seller gets 5 stars (quick, fast, delivery),Kuryakyn however only gets 3 stars (not good aftermarket support)

Great quality, OEM fit and comfortable to ride with. Don’t forget to locate the longer screws (loose in the packaging) that come with the throttle buddy (if ordered) as these are required for fitting the throttle buddy onto to new grips - the original screws are too short!

I put these on my Valkyrie. There nice the only complaint i have is that there almost a full inch longer than my stock ones even though these are what the Valkyrie calls for. They work and feel great, much better than stock. Just still not sure why there so long but it doesn't really bother me. I was just worried they would hit my tank on full turns but they don't.

I've bought a few grips in my life and I haven't found any that I enjoy more than these. They look sharp on my bike and feel good too. The installation took about 20 minutes.

Easy to install with one exception. The glue drys in an instant! I almost didn't get it on. When you push it on with the glue in it - push FAST!
