Excellent paints!
The media could not be loaded. So vibrant I was stunned when I first swatched them! And in the video and photo I demonstrate using the paint from dry with the white paint from mission gold that is sold separately for an incredible price! (15 usd for 100ml!)This set and concept is vastly under appreciated. I wish it was more widely known. No more stay wet messy gouache! You get to literally have your cake and eat it too!

This is a thick watercolor
They call this a hybrid product, both watercolor and gouache; however- they don't give you what you need to make these paints gouache. Think of this as a thicker watercolor. Kind of a student PLUS watercolor set. This will definitely teach you water control, since you are definitely going to need water to make them flow better. While you can find a big tube of matte or glossy white gouache on Ebay- neither white, nor black, are included in this set. And you will need white gouache to make these paints anywhere near gouache-like. I like these paints, as you get the Mission rich color, but without the smoothness of the professional Mission Gold watercolors. So I stand by my student-plus designation. A little expensive for what you get, and they could have at least included white gouache for you.

I really wish this product worked for me
I am a fan of Mijello watercolors, which I have bought in the past and really enjoyed to this day, and other products by Mijello too. This set caught my attention for the amount of paint and the qualities in the description. The ability to be used as watercolors and gouache. To my surprise neither were a viable option, for me. When watered down they have this very patchy, garish appearance on both professional watercolor paper and cellulose. I thought ok, let's try them thick, gouache like. Not a chance because they are more transparent than any gouache I've tried. Even using a high quality gouache , Titanium white for example, the paint is very goopy, really impossible to get that thick, gouache like texture in thick applications. Out of the whole set 6 tubes were not filled to the top. I mean considerably. All of them except some yellows, the oranges and pinks came a pinky finger width below the rim of the body of the tube. I couldn't see the pigment by just looking into the tube. The rest of pigments, other than the yellows and pigments without any white in them, were very separated from the binder and remained goopy when trying to mix them (pigments that by nature are more transparent). I couldn't see myself going through all this trouble trying to paint with them. On top of that no white is included, I knew that because is not listed but was hopeful that my own professional gouache would work but to no avail. In terms of the quantity is a big set, perhaps someone that wants a really big amount of bright paint and it's more on the hobby, craft side of painting, like coloring books for example, this set might be acceptable, I think people like very bright colors in those instances and this set certainly has that quality. But for someone more into professional paints I don't believe this set would be a hit. The presentation as always with Mijello paints is outstanding, beautiful packaging and the box itself is very sturdy, is something that will last a long time, the trays inside , 2 of them are made of hard plastic. There is a color chart included. I have ordered from Crushon before and will continue to do so, all the products received from them have been in impeccable condition. They honored the return promptly.

A great gouache/watercolor hybrid paint set!
The Mijello Mission White Class paints are a hybrid of gouache and watercolor. They are considered a hybrid paint simply because they can be used to create washes of color, as one would create with watercolors, or for a more matte, poster paint look that can normally be achieved with gouache. This set includes 34 15ml tubes of paint, don't' be fooled by the tube size, a little bit of this paint goes a very long way! It is important to note, that this set does not include a black or a white. They can be purchased separately in 100ml tubes of black, matte white and glossy white. If you intend to use them as a gouache, it might be a good idea to pick up the black and white paints as well. Each color in this set is very pigmented, rich and vibrant - they are the same quality that I have come to expect from the Mission Class watercolors, which are fantastic paints as well. I found that there was a nice balance of colors in this set, not leaning too heavily toward one color family and they all mix together flawlessly without getting muddy. Each paint varies in its lightfastness rating, from high lightfastness to low. This is something to keep in mind if you want to create work to be hung on a wall, or work that will be exposed to sunlight. Overall I think these are wonderful paints; they are a fantastic value for the quality of the product and I would definitely recommend trying them out! I have included a photo of an illustration I created using these paints.Since there is such limited information out there on the Mission White Class paints, here is a list of the colors included in this set:Lemon Yellow, Permanent Yellow Light, Permanent Yellow Deep, Bright Yellow Orange, Permanent Orange, Bright Red, Permanent Red, Rose, Rose Madder, Crimson Lake, Bright Opera, Violet Pink, Red Violet, Background Shadow Violet, Background Indigo, Prussian Blue, Ultramarine Deep, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue, Peacock Blue, Viridian, Bamboo Green, Dark Sap Green, Olive Green, Yellow Green, Greenish Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Umber Brown, Burnt Sienna, Light Red, Red Brown, Van Dyke Brown, SepiaI purchased my set from the seller CrushOn, who packaged my order extremely well and shipped it very quickly. Thank you CrushOn!
