Good ingredients, apparently good taste and well digested.
One should first mention that dog food is really difficult to compare. Every dog is going to have a different reaction to different brands of food and different ingredients. Just because something works or fails for one dog doesn't mean that it might not be a great option for another. So, I mention this to help owners who are looking to give the best diet to their pets. It's not a one and done solution. You may need to try a bunch of different brands and recipes.That said, the Wellness Core Grain Free Wild Game formula as been excellent for my female black lab mix. She is 7 months old and has had difficulties with a few other very highly regarded brands. Consequently, we found ourselves buying one brand, watching her for a couple weeks (with transition) and looking to see how it affected her poop. Recently, some brands were leaving her with very loose stool and we worried that she wasn't getting her proper nutrients. Our dog trainer indicated that we might want to try Wellness to see if things change. I particularly liked the ingredient list and quality of the Core formula. The protein and crude fat contents were very appealing and I found the price fair.Fortunately for us, our pup has taken to it like fish to water. The aroma from the bag is acceptable: put flatly, it doesn't stink. Our dog eats it up promptly and seems to enjoy it. Then again, I'm told labs eat anything. Second, the kibble is medium sized such that she needs to chew a hint and doesn't just gobble it down like smaller sized kibble. And lasty, the poop test: her stool has become firm and solid. I know this sounds insane to focus on poop but there's nothing worse than trying to scoop runny poop off the sidewalk in the city.For now, Wellness has earned a Mission Accomplished rating. I'll report back if things change.

Good quality higher protein dog food w/ little fishy smell ;)
I bought this dog food for 3 small active dogs- ages 2-4, yorkie mix, lhasa mix and a border/lakeland mix. We wanted a dog food in our rotation that offered a different protein source than the usual chicken or white fish and this seemed to fit the bill. Package arrived promptly in the mail in pristine condition, opened it and was pleasantly surprised by the minimal fish odor. For those who care, the kibble is bite sized but not too tiny, triangular in shape and probably toothsome enough for a larger breed. In any case, all dogs loved the wild game formula, i.e. only empty bowls here. Stools have been firm and coats are glossy/healthy if a little unkempt. The dogs may even be a bit peppier than before although this could be the result of the cold winter weather and the need to keep warm. Please note that we mix a handful of this kibble with TOTW since my dogs have done well on it, proportions of 2:1. I will update this review later next year as to any positive/negative effects of extended use but I don't anticipate any at this time. The Wellness formula seems to keep them satiated, healthy and ultimately, happy, which is really what a good dog food should promote.

Great quality grain-free food
Bought this for my two Yorkies who have been eating Wellness Complete Health. They loved it and were doing well, but I wanted to see if switching them to the grain-free version of the Complete Health formula would make a difference with occasional paw licking and mushy stools. It definitely did and they seemed to like it more than the regular formula, so I figured they'll do best on a grain-free food and decided to try Core. I tried the Wild Game formula first, as I'm curious if one of them has a poultry sensitivity. He (11 lbs) loves it. His sister (7 lbs) is a bit more hesitant. I think the kibbles are a bit large for her (see photo), or maybe the flavor isn't up her alley- she's pretty picky. I do love the quality of this food and the Wellness company in general, so we'll probably try the Ocean and Small Breed formulas and hopefully find a flavor they both like!

Quality food, but my dog did not like the taste!
This is a quality nutritious dog food, but my dog does not eat it very well. I have tried all of the flavors, but he apparently does not like the taste. I was hoping he would eat this flavor as it has no grain or potatoes (he is diabetic) & is more reasonably priced than the other food he was eating. His diabetes is very difficult to control. His blood glucose is very high if I give him any carbs other than chickpeas. He does very well on the Small Breed Grain Free Chicken flavor of Nature's Variety Instinct, but it is fairly expensive. Thank goodness that he is a small dog & does not eat much! The local Humane Society appreciated the donation of the remainder of the bag!

Wellness Brand
My dog is part Westie and part miniature Schnauzer. He has allergic reactions to chicken turkey and other fowl. His poop was loose, foul smelling, and often uncontrollable diarrhea.I paid $350 to the vet, a couple of years ago, to see what he’s allergic to.. it came back as chicken, barley and a couple of other grains. It is really hard to find things that don’t contain chicken, Turkey, duck, etc. Grains is easier these days....He now has perfectly formed poop, no diarrhea, and a beautiful coat of hair. And he isn’t chewing and licking himself.For my dog, this is a great product.Wish I could send you a picture...

Great Grain Free Food
We have tried different Wellness foods to give our 'girls' some variety. This is another one that they love and do not react to. We solved their allergy problem by switching to this brand and both of us and our vet are amazed at the difference in our dogs. We do supplement this with fresh or frozen vegetables but they will still eat it plain. Very pleased again with this food and this 'flavor;
