What a creative & well illustrated coloring book, chock full of fantastic animals & books!
This is so much cooler than I imagined! Most of the illustrations are two page spreads, featuring adorable & fantastic animals & book related, or created, scenes, such as book mouse houses & libraries, book paved forest trails, hot air balloons with books instead of baskets...~ Also, many illustrations are from the perspective of the viewer; giving the illusion I'm really at an antique desk & looking out a window, or looking at a real antique book, etc... It's very creative! It's perfect for animal, library, &/or fantasy lover art geeks.Read the listing for the tech specs. It's standard coloring book size, soft bound, the pages are all one sided, the paper is a bit thicker than standard CreateSpace paper, the illustration lines are thin but not needle fine, with many pages having black backgrounds. It's family friendly, with varying levels of coloring experience, & many clever images!I think the paper could take light watercolor wash, like using water brush pens with water activated media (markers, pencils, crayons), as long as there are backing sheets behind the chosen coloring pages, to prevent bleed through ruining other pages. It's fine for dry mediums.I'm super glad I gave this coloring book a chance! I'd love to find the other two in this series, but, sadly, I guess they're out of print or something. Otherwise I'd buy them both! I'd also gladly give this as a gift, suitable for children & adults~I hope this helps🙂

Beautifully detailed, single-sided, double-page spreads
This is such a uniquely designed book meant to give the double-page spread of popular coloring books, but with single-sided pages so that markers and other mediums that bleed through paper can still be used. Every other page turn is blank so that the images printed on one side of the paper appear across from each other. The pictures are very detailed and some even feature black backgrounds. The artwork is done in the style of many of the most popular coloring books, so if you like the works of of Hanna Karlzon, Maria Trolle, Johanna Basford and even Tatiana Bogema you will enjoy these as well, although the paper is of lesser quality which is reflected in the lower price of the book. The book itself is softcovered and the pages are fairly lightweight so they are not really suitable for watercolors or most other wet mediums as the pages will rumple a lot. The paper is perfect for colored pencils, pens and markers as long as a piece of cardstock is placed underneath the current work in progress. One issue I have found is that the images are printed right into the crease of the book, making it difficult to color all the way to the edge without breaking the binding. All in all I am very pleased with this book and feel it is well worth it's value.

Thoughtfully created book
The book itself is made well, with adorable designs and images, not overly done, great options for coloring techniques. the paper quality is good for pens and pencils in my opinion could be a better tooth to give the beautiful line art more medium options.Don’t get me wrong here, it’s not shiny paper, a mid level but quality paper.most colorists prefer a 70-90lb 100 to 146 gsm matte paper that absorbs a lot of layers but I am able to achieve several layers and blend. You won’t be disappointed in the designs there is something for everyone in this lovely book.I’d like to see this style of line art with these qualities in a series. Minor upgrade to the paper to appeal to markers and paints it would be petfect…Enjoy!!! This lovely book

Some cute pictures
Misleading name. Some cute pictures, many not so cute. Poor paper. Will color maybe 1/3 of the images.

Great line art.
Because I’m an avid reader thought I would like this book. I do. All double page spreads, however, many can just be colored as a single page. Liked the line art and while the paper isn’t the best, the pencils I used worked well.

My favorite coloring book ever.
I absolutely adore the intrigue and design this book gives. I've used pencil, because I'm not into markers for this book. It has little surprises, varied scenes, and imaginative features. I'll be buying the others.

Wonderful coloring book that will spark children's imaginationas well as adults..
I bought thus coloring book for myself because I love books and this coloring book takes me away into an imaginary place with cute animal friends and books that I love. The drawings are well done and beautiful. I like that there is a blank page on the back of each page because my gel pens seep thru just a little but not onto the page behind it. If you look close you will see that the gel ink on the previous page leaked thru just a little on the back but not onto the page across from the back of the picture. I also tried water color pencils and Tombow dual brush pens. The watercolor wrinkled the blank page a little, so you might want to put something behind the page you are coloring. The Tomboy seeped thru a little but not onto the blank page. Hope this review helps. Anyone who loves books will fall in love with this coloring book. It is good for adults and children. I will be ordering another one for my granddaughter who is 12 and who loves books as much as I do.
