This pedal has an oversized heat treated chromoly axle for lightweight and, most importantly, strength. The pedal benefits from a tough one-piece alloy outer cage which is incredibly strong and durable. The V12 uses two types of bearing; a sealed cartridge bearing below the alloy end cap which doesn't even need servicing and the plain bearing at the crank end, that can be serviced easily using a grease port and syringe. An external splash guard, internal O ring and internal double lip seal keep out crud and muck which could affect performance at the crank end and the pins can also be replaced easily using an allen key.
