Poorly engineered design, and should not have been worn out at 90 hours on my mower. My neighbor had the same problem with his. But the new part fit him perfectly, and was easy to install, and may be a bit better than the original.

Their customer service is wonderful. The product seems sturdy, but only time will tell. So far, so good. I would buy from them again!

The gear lasted one day not sure why but replaced the gear and realined it and now seams to work..This could be caused by lots of things so not sure it was defective Just check your alingment on your stering a few times.

It works great on my John Deere riding mower. I installed it myself it took me longer to install but after I did it worked great. I’m sure it will mess up again but hopefully not for a long time. Will buy again when the time comes.

My original lasted 13 years. Replaced it with this, and didn’t even make it 4 months, before the gear stripped.

This fit perfectly on my JD 125. The dealer wanted $25 for just the pinion itself, not including the rack (also $25), neither of which would've come with the bushings. This kit had new bushings and the rack and the pinion and a new bolt with metal bushing...for half the price. Is the quality the same? Not sure. This kit is made in China, for sure. But the replacement from the dealer was also made in China. So, there's no telling whether or not the part from the dealer of superior quality simply based on the country of origin.What I can say, is I am taking my chances and trying this one out. So far, so good. I'm back to cutting my lawn.

It shows me ordering this kit on May 26th 2023. It installed easily enough but my pinion gear now looks worse than the old one, and I have only used it until June 28th 2023. I am not sure what happened as I spent more money for the metal gear.

Easily installed, just missing most important bolt, steering stop bolt. When wornout unit needs replaced this bolt is a must to.also replace. NOT A COMPLETE KIT!!

The adjustable tie rod ends had more play in them than my worn out ones ! Sent the kit back for a total refund .

Took a couple of hours to install on my LA145 JD... Works well.

It steering gear fit great.. didn't need the half round gear..the points in the original were still sharp..steers great

I was replacing the drive belt on my John Deere D140, when I noticed that the steering gears were nearly shot. They had to be replaced. The Johnny Dealer wanted too much for the few parts needed, so I turned to this seller for the parts. And I was surprised!The main gear plate - the part that gets turned by the pinion gear and to which the steering arms are attached, is so much better than I thought it would be. It is a much thicker than what I expected. It is a very solid, heavy-duty part, that I doubt I will be replacing anytime soon. (I believe it is even thicker than the original part.)The small pinion gear - the one that is attached to the steering wheel shaft - seems to be made of a much lighter metal. Like what we used to call "white metal", back in the day. It could be this part is made like that, so that it does not wear the large, heavy-duty geared plate. In that case, I would almost call that pinion gear as a "sacrificial" part. I have not checked to see if you can purchase just that gear, but I hope it's possible.There are a few plastic bushings included, which round out the kit.Overall, an easy kit to install. All work is done under the tractor, so make sure you are working safely!Paid for by me. Thanks!
