It's overall nice, but too smooth, which defeats the very purpose of a natural perch. Also instead of a polished surface it could have had the real bark left on, which would make it rough and good for birds. My birds usually love chipping off the bark, which provides engagement and excercise for them.

Poor product. My parrots ripped it up in two minutes. The wood is very soft. Maybe okay for canaries and budgies but not for parrots, and certainly not the mischievous ones. Expensive too. Money wasted

Product was super sturdy and didn't have any visible splinters, however the reason I ordered this to have variable perch thinness for my Sun conures feet.My Sun counure chose the pvc plastic pipe that came with the cage over this... return ed the item
