KryptoniteFrame Lock Plug In 10mm Cable - 120cm Length One Size, GK002253, Black

I fitted the Kryptonite frame lock to my eBike for times when I just stop for a rest or a coffee. It’s OK for those occasions when the bike is right next to me to stop somebody jumping on it and riding off but I still need to go into a shop or cafe so wanted to attach the bike to something just for a few minutes while out of sight.I bought the Kryptonite plugin chain that is used with the frame lock but found that too cumbersome and heavy, always needing to take panniers just to carry it. Then I came across this cable and it’s just right for those occasions. It it much lighter than the chain and comes with a holder that you can attach to the frame of the bike. The cable clips into it so no need for a bag or pannier to carry it in.It has a loop on one end so you can put the cable around a static object like a post or bike rack and pass it through the loop. The other end has a metal plug that fits into a hole in the frame lock so as well as preventing the wheel from turning, the bike can’t just be picked up and carried off.I wouldn’t use this for locking a bike that is going to be left for more than a few minutes as it could be easily cut off with a pair of bolt cutters, that is what the chain is for, but for just popping into I a shop it is ideal.

I decided to ditch my heavy crocklock in favour of built in rear wheel clamp. Bought a kryptonite device and then realised I could add this device to both lock the wheel and attach the bike to a handy strut. Works great and both undo with a single key turn.
