Well made, heavy (no raccoons), won't need to be replaced. I just ordered another.
Every two or three years I have to go find/buy new window well covers. They're always cheap clear plastic, which cracks and weathers badly. The local hardware store doesn't carry them, so it's a 30+ minute drive to a big hardware store. They also cost anywhere between $20 and $35 each. Another problem is the local raccoons like to get into the window wells, so if I don't weight the edges down, they move the well covers.I found these Amerimax on Amazon and bought one. It doesn't fit the well perfectly, but it's pretty close, definitely good enough. This cover has a recessed groove around the edge which is supposed to fit over the top of the well wall. I have an older metal well and it is a little too wide (maybe 3/4" next to the house) to fit perfectly. I looked online, and this is the only size Amerimax makes. This is definitely well made, heavy (no raccoons), and won't need to be replaced. I just ordered another for the second window well.

Didn't last 8mo
Product looked good and has an aluminum reinforcement, but cracked when I put very little weight on it (leaned on it to look at a vent). For 97$ shipped I expected 4yrs or more.

Seriously better quality then the flimsy plastic ones. Buy it.
This is an awesome window well cover. It’s solid as a rock and fit my well perfectly. It’s heavy duty so i am not expecting to replace this, as i have with cheaper covers, for several years. Depending how it holds up- maybe never. It Is heavy and is opaque. You cannot see through it. It lays flat on the well so it is not blocking any light to the basement window. I don’t expect it to blown off in any high winds. All and all. Very satisfied. I highly recommend!

It gets brittle with time.
It’s a very nice, well made cover when new, can support 300 pounds. After five years, my cover became brittle and shattered when stepped on with just one foot. For $90.00, I expect better life expectancy.

Sturdy and fits well
This is a great fit for a standard basement window well. I keeps the rain from accumulating in and allows enough light to give some interior light to the basement. It is sturdy, as the old plastic ones, became dried and cracked over time. This material is more durable looking, and the weight is good to resistent the occasional strong winds that have lifted previous covers. There was virtually no installation time, as I just sat it on the steel rim of the cover and it fit well.

measurement less than accurate
Overall, the cover is decent. If your home is older (1950s and after) you likely have small basement windows with smaller window wells. The cover will lay on top, but there will still likely be a gap between which will allow leaves and snow (if you live in that climate) to get in. In addition, the length is not all that accurate. The covering in my case extends beyond the well itself. It will work for now, but frankly I should have returned it for the 53 bucks and just bought the cheap plastic kind you screw into your house.

This is very durable
I purchased this to replace the one we had for many years that finally did break...had for over 15 years and not sure where we purchased that one...it is very sturdy and durable...the other well covers are too flimsy and don't think they would last through a winter. You won't be sorry to get.

Wrong dimensions and pricey return
The listed size dimensions of this well cover on the Amazon page are smaller than the actual product size when it arrives. If you decide to return it for a refund since it will not fit your well, then you will discover the manufacturer does NOT pay for the return, which will cost you more than the original product using UPS or UPS.
