Great product. Also some ideas to ease installation.
My wife and I think that this Coolaroo sun shade has turned an OK outdoor space into something much better. We like the way that it keeps the deck cooler in the bright afternoon sunshine. I understand now the beauty of being able to see through the shade while giving a little more privacy. We are very happy with this purchase. Now in a matter of sharing what I learned from the experience. We also installed a 10 foot long Coolaroo shade at the same time. I have Parkinson's so the effort required to install certainly exceeded the 20 minutes that the instructions suggested =8^). What I figured out seemed to help in handling both of these shades. When first taken out of the shipping container, take several strips of hook and loop fasteners (Velcro) and tightly snug them down to make the shades easier to handle until it is time to unfurl them. It also helps with the slightly annoying problem of having the fabric sliding while you are hanging off the deck trying to mount it using the brackets hung under the roof eves. I used 4 for the 10 footer and two for the 4 footer. These fastener straps would also come in handy when taking the shade down, if you elected to, for winter as well.I also put an extra screw into both brackets for the 10 footer. I thought that only placing two in each bracket was not enough for that long span of 10 feet. The shade itself only weighs 11 pounds, but I was worried about the sudden wind gusts and Colorado weather blowing on the shade. It was easy to drill a third hole in between the two slots provided by the manufacturer. After making all the necessary adjustments to the shade I then placed this third screw to give more support and also to lock each bracket down.Hope this helps someone.

Worth the money and still look brand new after a year of outdoor use!
I bought 3 of the these last year for my back porch (the larger ones) and left outdoor curtains up in one last area because the curtains really looked amazing-but the curtains were useless in keeping the rain and weather off of our outdoor furniture, etc. So I finally purchased one more Coolaroo shade to replace the curtains and I’m glad I did. These shades are amazing! They are built extremely well and the 3 large shades that we installed last summer still look brand new. The installation is simple and took less than 15 min to install 1 shade. They are very easy and quick to open and close. We barely notice them when we aren't using them, but when we open them during a rain or to keep the sun out, they look fabulous. Definitely worth the money, especially after you pay for outdoor furniture, etc and need to protect your porch from the weather or use the area during a rain.

Great outdoor blinds!
Bought these blinds for my lanai and they are wonderful!!They block the heat from the sun while still letting in light and they keep the area cool.I would highly recommend them.I a word of caution and only one minor complaint that has absolutely nothing to do with the overall functionality.Caution..., this product is advertised as, for example, 48" wide blind. This is the actual width of the blind, meaning it will not fit into a 48" opening. Thankfully, the seller I purchased from noted this information in their ad so I knew up front that I would have to hang the blind on the outside of the opening and, knowing this information, I was able to confirm it would actually fit before I purchased. Many of the sellers I looked at did not inform the buyers that the opening needed to be 2 1/2" wider than the advertised width. My only complaint is with the government and the insurance companies stepping in yet again, in an attempt to save us from ourselves by making corded blinds illegal, all because we now live in a world of misplaced blame. It used to take about 3 seconds to lower one of my old corded blinds. Now it takes close to 30 seconds to lower one, along with a lot of manual labor. On the bright side, I'm building up muscle from all the cranking.

Decent value but not so easily installed. I think it will work fine.
The manufacturer boasts about easy installation but the screw area of the brackets can be obscured by the roll of fabric. If they had made the brackets a half inch to three quarters of an inch wider, this would not be an issue. Better quality screws with deeper area for the screwdriver to fit would also help. Those changes would likely cost 10-15 cents more per unit. The lack of thought never ceases to amaze me.

So Far So Good
I purchased a 4’ and 6’ shade to cover a 10’ area that gets direct 5 p.m. south TX sun. It does the job. Since it’s 10,000 degrees at that time of day these are seldomly unrolled so who knows how long they will last. They certainly drop the temp when we do use them and you can sit outside and not be totally uncomfortable. Why did I buy a 4 and 6 foot shade instead of a 10 ft. Reviews I read said the 10 ft one started bowing in the middle after a while.
