A much better salt substitute than any I've tried AND potassium chloride lowers blood pressure!
I don’t add any salt to my foods, save what might already come with them. I do miss a dash of salt now and then, but don’t bother adding any. Speaking of dash, salt substitutes such as Mrs. Dash never appealed to me. They simply weren’t salty tasting and seemed to take away from the flavor of whatever I might be adding it to. I was anxious to at least give the Tatio salt a try because I do like salty and onion. One interesting thing to note is that potassium chloride actually has been proven to lower blood pressure. A lot of people will be very interested in that fact. Back to the Tatio. The box itself is biodegradable, another high-interest fact. I simply poked a couple of small holes in the top corner of the box, creating a salt shaker.Let’s face it, plant-based diets can be some bland. Very bland. I added a bit of this Tatio salt substitute to a plate of veggies. It was a real wow moment because this salt substitute tastes just like real salt. Be forewarned, it only takes a bit to give anything a salty taste. I didn’t taste the onion as much, but wasn’t concerned. Very nice salt substitute, but there are several warnings for individuals, which I shall list below.INGREDIENTS:Potassium Chloride, Onion Ciboullette, Ascorbic Acid, Potassium Iodate, Silice Dioxide (Product of Chile)WARNINGS:Individuals with diabetes, heart or kidney disease or individuals receiving medical treatment should consult a healthcare physician before using a sodium-free diet.

love the salt substitute, hate the box
My wife first saw these and thought that there was a container in the box. She ripped the top off and then we had to figure out what to do with it! We got a couple other flavors and now we still don't know what to do. We can cut the corner off, but then it's not sealed. It has holes you can punch, but then it doesn't come out well.If you have a salt shaker to pour this in, I like it as a salt substitute. The regular is my favorite, but the flavors are pretty good too. I like it overall, but I wish it had a better container.

Good Alternative
Salt substitutes can be a healthy alternative for some people because potassium is an important mineral that helps lower blood pressure.Salt substitutes can be dangerous when you have conditions such as kidney disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, liver disease or diabetes. So do not take salt substitutes unless they are approved by a physician. These conditions raise the risk of high levels of potassium (normally well-controlled by the body) in your blood. The potassium in salt substitutes can tip that balance.Similarly, using salt substitutes while on certain medications — the most common being ACE inhibitors and potassium-sparing diuretics — can raise your blood potassium to risky levels.

Like the Salt But I Don't Taste Any Onion
I personally do not have a problem with regular salt. However, I like the taste of salt substitutes. In fact, I like all different kinds of salt because I believe it really enhances the flavor of food.I have tried Tatio's non-onion flavored salt and liked it very much. To me, this tastes exactly like that salt. I did not taste any onion at all. Maybe it's all in the bottom of the container? In any event, the only thing I didn't like about this was the absence of any onion flavor or scent.

Decent Salt Substitute, if a bit pricey
I have to avoid sodium due to a history of kidney stones and this potassium chloride seems to be a suitable substitute, but still best used in moderation. I can’t say I detected the onion flavor in this, but it definitely helped bump up the flavor profile of my meals over not using any salt, but it’s quite expensive for the amount you get. Not sure I care for the cardboard “shaker” it comes in, I would rather have something I can easily open and put into my own salt shakers.

Not bad but where's the onion?
This is a decent salt substitute. If you have health issues, I'd check with your doctor to make sure it isn't bad for your health, as potassium creates issues for some. It's a small container, but a little should go a long way. 4 star rated.
