Neil Diamond The Legend
Many years ago I read an unauthorised biography of Neil called Solitary Star. I have been waiting a long time for an official biography and have not been disappointed. This is a wonderful insight to the man behind the music.I would recommend this as essential for any Neil Diamond fan and also anyone who loves reading biographys.

Some details are wrong, some left out !
Overall , a good biography. Although a couple of things weren’t accurate, it didn’t detract from the rest of it. I would recommend it 👍

Facts are culled from various sources but not from the subject.
I only bought this because I couldn't find an autobiography. It was okay, but spent too much time detailing the May tours he did. Neil did not contribute to it personally.

Nothing new here,a waste of time and money for real fans sadly.
Plenty to read but nothing new, just dry facts we all know anyway. A few photos. Disappointing.

This one nails it!
This is not a long book, but it is the best account of Neil Diamond’s life that I have read so far. Most of the accounts “gush,” and the objectivity is lost. Yes, I am a rabid fan of this wonderful artist, but I know everyone has multiple sides. Neil Diamond, unlike most men, is quite complicated, and this fact is reflected in the thoughtful, but not officious text. You get good interaction with his children, which I was most curious about. His older daughter, Marjorie, for example, inspired his song “Beautiful Noise,” by exclaiming those very words from a New York hotel window. There is also an account of his two previous marriages that produced the children. His latest spouse, Katie McNeil, is not included as the book predates her, but there is an account of his relationship with his Australian girlfriend. This book is for ANYONE like I am, a huge fan!!

Gift for a mother who is a Diamond-head
Mom loved the book. She'd play top hits to get into the mood for her nightly reading, then pop on some of his deep hits after a few chapters. She thoroughly enjoyed it. So I guess it was a good Xmas gift.
