don't dare leave it in the rain
I'm a die-hard DeWalt man but I don't like how this radio takes on water. I left it in the rain for a few hours. I don't remember what angle it was in but I didn't care at the time --I trusted that DeWalt would make it at least water resistant. Afterward, when picked it up and carried it around I could hear water sloshing around inside. It still works, but I don't know for how long. I'm going to call DeWalt tech support to see where to drill a drain hole. Will update.UPDATE: I called DeWalt (over voice, not the internet chat, which was non-responsive) and the rep said the radio is not designed to resist rain and that since there is water inside, that voids that warranty. He also couldn't help as to where to drill a drain hole, so it's probably going to be a 3 hour project cracking the case, and cleaning it up. This thing is billed as a rugged worksite (and one would assume) outdoor radio, but it's not the least bit water resistant.UPDATE: Well it did recover from the water last season without drilling, but this season it just stopped working all of a sudden. When I turn it on it is just stuck in BlueTooth mode and it won't let me change modes. So much for rugged. I'll mention another totally different feature that just NOT for me: The reason this thing is so heavy is it has an internal inverter that powers the power outlets on the side. I have never used the outlets even once. I am thinking of getting the new DCR028 which is supposed to be half the weight and is without an inverter or charger. I'll just have to remember to take a separate charger or bolt one to the back.

Sides are weak
Had it for 2 weeks and I had my cell phone charging on side plugs it slid of couch fell about 1 foot and side plugs broke. For 200 bucks that's kind of a huge flaw if you ask me

Static when charging.
I've had a couple of Dewalt radios over the years, and this one is about the same. The bluetooth works well. It sounds pretty good. The problem with the radio is when you're using it to charge a battery, you hear static from the speaker. It doesn't do it if you're using bluetooth, just when listening to FM. If I'm by myself, I just listen to Pandora through the radio, so it doesn't make a difference. If I'm working on a job, I'll just charge my batteries with a regular charger so I can keep listening to FM radio without interference. That kinda defeats the purpose of having a battery charging radio. If you're using a battery to listen to the radio (with no 120V power connected) there is no interference. I do that often if I'm working where power isn't available or convenient.

Sound quality could be better and wire needs to unplug from radio
No bottle opener (same as many other comments) but doubt I would have used that much anyway. Sound quality is decent but not exceptional; I did expect better for the high price. I like the presets. Display is not great unless you look exactly perpendicular to it. Very heavy, probably to add to durability. I use other DeWalt power tools and wanted to retain battery commonality especially since having battery operation was a primary consideration for buying a new radio for outside. Having the electrical wire be easily disconnected from the body would have been a good improvement; why carry around the wire and have to roll it up if you are using the battery. Lets just say I expected more from DeWalt and the high price (compared to other site radios that have better sound quality & cheaper) but will keep due to the battery compatibility to other tools.

The audio seems good, but the radio does not tune in but ...
The box I received was slightly damaged with no foam or other protection. The unit itself while it seems to work is scratched and scuffed, I suspect it was a returned item and not new. The LED display is very faint, but again this may have been a returned unit. The audio seems good, but the radio does not tune in but a few stations (I got it for the BT anyway).

Good product, but false advertising by seller
Just received my radio. THE BAD: I’m glad the radio is guaranteed tough as advertised, because the condition of the box looks like it was thrown around. See pics. The outside shipping box showed no damage so must have happened before shipping. My radio did not come with “bonus” bottle opener as advertised. I should get price adjustment since I didn’t get the “bonus”.THE GOOD: The sound is good with plenty of volume. The display is ok for the most part , but not a large field of view. Blue tooth paired easily and quickly. Haven’t checked range yet. So far I’m satisfied with the product, but not with the seller due to false advertising. Will update as necessary.

Heavy Duty
One of those gotta have tools for the 20 Volt series.Blue tooth works great with volume & other control from your I-phone. The overall quality of this sound system is good. Illuminated blue display shows basic operations. The volume level is also displayed with a max of 30.Don’t expect it to knock your socks off.Not as powerful as my Ion Pathfinder. However for most job site applications, it’s got more than enough volume.Rugged Heavy duty construction make it easy to grab & set almost anywhere. The lower compartment is big enough to hold your phone & cables. The Equalizer & USB charger give it another plus.

Didn’t last long at all!
Only use this occasionally at home to listen to music, whole front panel of knobs quit working! Spent a lot of money on this, going to have to drive an hour to a dewalt repair shop to see if it’s repairable. Dewalt is usually great product. Save your money!

Good Radio with 1 Flaw
Have only had it a few weeks. Seems well made, durable. Sound quality is decent, it sounds like a work radio so don’t expect a Bose system. Biggest con like other people have mentioned the radio is terribly staticy when charging a battery. Remove the battery or run off the battery and it’s fine. Bluetooth playback is not affected by a charging battery. I haven’t use it yet but I like the space provided to plug in and charge your phone. I don’t have an issue opening or closing the compartment.

It’s a great radio all around
Great little unit, bit pricey perhaps but it is a name you know you can trust and last longer than most. Plenty loud for the deck or garage and a job site as long as it’s not sitting on a generator. Bluetooth is simple and very convenient. Definitely durable, it’s built to take a knock. I would recommend this DCR025 dewalt bluetooth stereo. Good clear sound and a nice looking machine.

Exactly what I wanted for a long time, sound quality is great and reception is good too in my house and my garage very easy to work with no need to play on your phone to find the perfect radio app its also a traditional radio hard to believe these days !.Base is enough for me even if some review compare it to the tough system radio that have the same sound quality but with a subwoofer over it that one feel too big for my tast and I didn't liked the design of it .All the advantages I have are on the dcr025. The radio could be more protected with foam in the box but that's dewalt fault.

Great sound that showed up early
Great battery powered radio/Bluetooth speaker system that sounded better than expected.Item delivered a week earlyVery happy with purchaseOnly small issue I can mention is the fact I thought it should have had a bottle opener after review of this item on line but the newer version does not have itWell worth the purchase with the Black Friday promotion

Fantastic speaker + charging system that fits my 20V Dewalt tool collection!
Exactly what I wanted in a portable speaker that fits my 20V collection of Dewalt tools. The speaker itself is pretty impressive and works perfectly with Bluetooth. The radio is surprisingly good as well, even though the antenna isn't too big. The best part for me is that it can be powered by a battery, it can charge a battery when it's plugged into the wall, and it can provide power to other devices when it's powered by the battery! This goes beyond being a speaker and is just a great portable system for any Dewalt 20V owner.
