For the Passionate -- Those Who Have a True and Earnest Desire to Let God be Their All
This isn't for the lukewarm. Or maybe it is, because read with an open heart, it will surely ignite a fire in any sincere Christian who genuinely wants more of God in their lives. If you want an easy, comforting read that will stroke whatever need you have, this isn't the book for you. It surely contains wisdom that can turn out to be the balm to wounded souls, but this book is more of a challenge than anything else. It is one that yanks you out of your comfort zone and into the borderlands -- one that does not excuse sin or compromise and confronts you with a God so majestic, so tremendous, so mysterious, it will lead you to your knees. If you let it. Tozer's Pursuit of God changed my life when I first read it. I tremble even as I draw near to God asking Him to teach me how and give me grace to live the truths in this book out. Highly recommended!!

Excellent!
Many Christians do not care for Tozer. He writes in Olde English and you have to take it slowly to actually profit from his wisdom but I am willing do that, and am always rewarded.Perhaps it's because I'm a transplanted Brit and completely get where he's coming from, but this is powerful stuff. If you are a sincere Christ-follower who desires permanent change, get this. You won't regret it. Tozer is a encouragement.
He placed a challenge before us to never settle for the easy but to want the most from our relationship with God. He wants us to reconsider what is truly important. He placed a challenge before us to reconsider who we belong to which is Jesus and not the world and the religious systems around us.

A W Tozer..... is that really you?
I recently purchased the Kindle edition of this book. When I began reading the book it was typical of one of Tozer’s writings, but it somehow lacked the spark that I was accustomed to finding in one of Tozer’s books. Then in chapter 5 where the author is talking about imperfections of the human body, there is the statement, “There are some who have had heart transplants…”.Now, Tozer died in March of 1963 and the first heart transplant was performed in December of 1967. So, something just doesn’t add up here. The Kindle edition gives no information about authorship beyond Tozer’s name proudly displayed on the cover. This may well be a compilation of Tozer’s writings to which editorial updates have been added. I am hoping it isn’t the product of a contemporary, third-party ghostwriter just piecing together some Tozer excerpts.I don’t take exception to anything said in the book thus far (I haven’t finished it yet), but I am troubled by questions about authorship.

Powerful!
A great, but difficult read! Difficult because Tozer walks you through challenging experience. One, if you allow yourself, that will quicken thoughts of despair, anguish and brokenness. However, for anyone who has taken this journey, there is hope also quickened in you as the Lord ministers to your soul, takes any broken parts and renews you, forming you into someone more like him. I highly recommend this book.

Refreshment for our souls that we critically need.
As the effects of the worldly bombardments we receive constantly diminish our love and drive to seek and embrace God’s righteousness this brilliant reminder builds us up and gives or renews our first love. It serves as a guide to revive our spiritual growth in Christ. It should draw you back to prayer filled reading of God’s Holy Word and keep you focused on eternity.

Every Christian should read this book.
I am a thankful reader of A. W. Tozer. This book is a wonderful commentary on the foundation of our Christian Life, which is worship. Our relationship to God, our very existence as a Christian, must be based on our worship of Almighty God. I cannot overemphasize the importance of our worship life. Tozer has insights that are vital to our life.

A book of two halves
This was the first book by A W Tozer that I've read. The first half the book came across quite strange. It seemed to be a lengthy essay basically existing the author's dislike for modern worship songs. I understood his point fairly quickly and whilst I didn't agree with it, I didn't need more chapters and pages repeating the point. I felt there were arguments being put forth without the backing that may have made them, if not more convicting then more interesting. For example, references to songs and books the author was disapproving of but not detailing which books or songs. However the second half of the book moved on from this and was much more engaging, with well explained thoughts and challenges. Interesting that as I progressed through the book no "highlights" appeared from others, like they had in the first few chapters. I wonder if others gave up before reaching the second half? I found plenty to think about and consider further and found the author's style much more readable as the book progressed.

A challenge for the 21st century Christian.
If ever there was a book that will shake the church into seeking first the Kingdom of God again realising what we have lost in personal fellowship with God this is it. A W Tozer in this book will bring you again the challenge to drink deep at the Divine well and be the Christian God desires you to be.

The heart of the matter.....
Passion for God above all else drives this writing. 'There is more', than we currently have and in this book Tozer strips away the pretence, pulling back the layers of correct doctrine amidst a mediocre desire for God, so with Paul we press on to greater intimacy with God. So yes highly recommended, not for the faint hearted.

Great read
A fantastic book about God. AW Tozer speaks plainly about the attributes of God and it is a challenge to live a right before God and put it faith and trust in Almighty God.

Challenging and thought provoking
Not always easy reading, but worth 5 stars for the last chapter alone. Every Christian should read that chapter! This message is just as true today as it was when Tozer wrote it. So many are content with doctrinal accuracy, but have little experience of God himself. This book points us in the right direction, to move beyond superficial Christianity to hungering for a deeper reality.
