Pure Support Knee Brace with Straps, Compression Sleeve for Running, Arthritis Pain, Sports

UPDATE: I bought two more red colored ones because the price is fair and while it has a tad less support than the McDavid neoprene option it is more comfortable and definitely stays in place better.I suffered a MODERATE KNEE SPRAIN at work and that was about 7 weeks ago. I wore a McDavid double strap brace (unhinged) with an open patella design. It was pretty decent but my knee was so weak early on that it would buckle (rare but it occurred) and was quite unstable. I could not stand in one place without serious discomfort, burning or pain and I couldn't even walk around on it for more than 10 minutes per hour. When I saw the company doc they put me in a heavy duty Ossur knee brace with double straps and HINGED. If you are experiencing moderate to severe symptoms IMHO you need a brace more like this. But of course see your doctor and let them recommend one based on your individual symptoms.I initially bought this Pure Support sleeve for my good knee since we all know that when one side of our body is jacked up we consciously or subconsciously change how we use the injured part and then it can lead to the other side getting a little out of whack. I tried it on my "better" knee and really liked it. At my follow up doctor's appointment I was advised I could try moving to this type of sleeve since I had been in PT for several weeks now and done a nice job of building up strength and stability. NOTE: My appointment with an orthopedist and evaluation of the MRI indicated there was a "frayed" meniscus, some tendonosis above the knee, some arthritis in the knee with a loss of cartilage behind the knee. Tonight I tried Pure Support on my BAD KNEE.Here are my observations:-- I measured 19" or 20" with a metal tape measure (not ideal). I bought a vinyl tape measure on Amazon along with this sleeve for easier future measuring. I am 6' 1/2" tall and I weigh 181 pounds. My build is a blend of mesomorph and ectomorph. I ran cross country in junior high and got into baseball and basketball and weight lifting and realized my genetics and constant reading to learn about fitness and the body allowed me to build muscle pretty easily. I ordered the MEDIUM size and it was a little snug in my quads but I know a large would have been a mistake and too loose. I got the right size for sure.-- It is a very nice looking sleeve and has a high quality appearance. I like that it is available in so many different colors for when I wear shorts it will be easy to color match if I care to do so-- I like these style of sleeve as they are LONGER than my neoprene ones I have used in the past. I think longer should aid in less slipping and sliding.-- In spite of looking tight I think it is only natural with walking and movement for these to move some. It is inevitable. The GEL waves are at the top on the inside and they work pretty well at not allowing it to slide down too much. However, I did find that over time it would rise up off of my shin so I was pulling it DOWN toward my feet.-- It is very COMFORTABLE-- Support is LIGHT but clearly present and it keeps my knee warmer. At the end of the day it feels a tad less supportive than in the beginning which could be from it stretching out or it could be more mental, I am not sure. I think this is a good option when you are returning to exercise and have already done the PT work to strengthen your surrounding muscles (ex. calfs, quads, hamstrings etc.) and you are further along in your recovery and you don't want a bulky hinged brace because it is too limiting and won't allow you to restore strength to the area through light exercise.-- It arrives well packaged and includes a family photo note card from the business owners and a thank you for supporting their small family business.All in all, a really nice quality product and something I can see myself using at work a lot.

I didn't have a serious or major injury, BUT, with my runners knee, I just left this on while I was in recovery and I feel like it sped up the process.

Needed a couple of Knee Braces for Training .The only bad thing here is that I needed 2 . This is the price for one . Note that this is only for a single brace not 2So I used it and I gotta tell you it’s worth itI am buying the 2nd for my other knee

I use these for Jiu-Jitsu. They fit well and offer pretty decent support without the bulk and stiffness of other braces. The size description says that if you are on the cusp of 2 sizes to go with the larger size. I am right on the edge of large and extra large, so I got the XL. The XL's wee way to big so I returned them for the Large size which fit perfectly. The only reason I rented them 4 stars rather than 5 is I wish that they had a little more velcro to have more customized support.

My doc gave (actually sold) me the type of brace that football players use to protect their knees. We both suspect I have a small meniscus tear. No imaging done yet. The brace has the articulating metal supports on both sides. Probably a lighter version by the same concept. To be fair, she wasn't certain her brace would really help. It did OK but I wanted something better, especially since I don't (yet) have any ligament issues.I searched for braces/wraps that help with meniscus tears and found a page that reviewed several. I chose this one and it's made a big difference. We just finished a trip where we walked 6 to 10 miles a day and I had no pain, swelling or other problems. I didn't need to ice my knee or use anti-inflammatory cream as I was before.This wrap provides 360 degree support around my knee while limiting motion to a tolerable degree. Plus I can wear it under pants. The other mostly provided lateral support and then some compression type support above and below my knee where it wrapped around my leg. And it had to be worn outside my pants.I got lucky and found a good solution for me.

The media could not be loaded.  This is by far best knee brace I have had in over 10 plus years. It’s so comfy I forgot I had it on. No slip ,light and does the job.

This item has great support but was too small

The brace is a bit too tight I feel a lot of pressure when using it but my kneecap is very loose and I missing majority of the part that connects it from the back of my kneecap to my leg. My doctor suggested I get something like this to try it. After about four days the discomfort from the pressure of the brace wasn’t as bad I started getting used to it and it really started helping my knee hold in place to where now I can walk run and squat without a lot of discomfort. The brace is very good quality and gives good support. It’s easy to wear underneath a lot of my clothes a little more difficult with skinny jeans but was fine underneath my work slacks and my scrubs. I have washed it several times because I have dogs and it does fine , it has not lost any of its durability. Now we just need them to make it in a pretty color!

Using it all the time because of Knee injury. It definately helps

As soon as I got this I tried it on and I noticed the relief right away without using the straps, using the straps after was like having extra support. It feels very comfortable. I'm going to be buying another one, also I have to tell other people about this. This is an amazing product. Thanks Phil and Lily.
