These are needed if you do any amount of sanding on cars- quick and effective

These are some nice 5 inch interface pads. Definitely NOT for compounding and polishing! My pads flew like bullets across the room and one hitting me in the neck! The heat from the DA or rotary melted these things apart and ended with a giant 5 inch glob of glue on my new paint. Luckily came off with some goo gone. Only have one left intact attached to my 5 inch sander that is holding up well. These do tend crush and stay crushed easily no longer holding their original shape. For the price they are fine and can’t expect too much compared to a single high quality pad that costs $25. Value for the money they’re great. Adhesion could definitely improve. Around 3500rpm they start to melt and come apart and any higher be very cautious because they will come apart instantly! I will try to repair the ones apart with some high temperature adhesive and hopefully they will hold up.

I own a hardwood flooring business resanding and refinishing wood floors. Part of our sanding process is using the American Sander HydraSand 6 disk head for our finish sanding to get the floors smooth and flat.On that sanding head, we use interface pads to increase the longevity of the sand paper and to level the floors. Our "hydra" machine weighs close to 250 lbs and spins at nearly 500 rpm on a 16 inch diameter sanding head. Our flooring speciality supplier charges over $10 per pad for a cost of $60 to replace all 6 pads on this sanding head.I saw this 6 pack for $10 and decided to give them a try. After more than 10 sand jobs on these pads, they still hold the sand paper like they are brand new. I AM GREATLY IMPRESSED BY THESE and have already ordered a second 6 pack.

purchased these to wet sand with my random orbit sander....work great at a fair price

I should have listened to the other reviews because these pads would not stay on my orbital sander so I'm returning them. I'm sure some of the other buffing/polishing pads are better than these. Always, always check the reviews 1st & if they don't have any or not many, again, look elsewhere.

This backing pad was the worst pad I’ve ever used. I almost ruined a cars clear coat. The pad jumped off the MACHINE! I’ve tried to use pad for over a year without writing a review. Today was the deal breaker! So if you are a professional and looking for a solid backing pad. DO NOT BUY THIS ONE!
