XCAR Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier Rack High Side 59" x 24" x 14" Folding Rear Luggage Basket Fits 2" Receiver for Car SUV Camping Traveling

We recently bought this trailer for our spring break trip from MD to NC. We bought this trailer rack for our car and it worked out great! It was Easy to assemble, and set up! It breaks down and can be folded up in under a minute! I didn’t even feel it when driving and it gave us a lot of extra space.I would also recommend getting the waterproof bag. It’s easy to put in and tie down and we drove through torrential rain for over two hours on the way down and everything was dry!I think having the rack is much easier than a roof storage unit to install and load and it’s much more aerodynamic when driving. We can also use it for tailgates!The pic I took doesn’t do it justice because the side racks are folded down. I took a pic with the sides up and the bag in, but it didn’t turn out.

My only issue is the hitch stablizer stripped on me the day my family went on our vacation. It delayed me 4 hours trying to find a replacement which no one seemed to carry. I did have to order a new one and have it sent where I was going. The basket was very useful and gave me extra room in my 2020 Hilander. It was loaded with 3 suite case and 3 duffle bag along with a double stroller going from MN to CA and back. It did not rust on me even though it was 🌧 buffaloes while passing through North Dakota. Never seen such heavy rain that I could see where I was driving. But very sturdy and no it didn't rust or break along the way.

Fairly easy to assembly and durable.

Upto 4 29 Inch luggage bags easily standing up.Can open the tail gate with sides up.can open the tail gate with luggage loose by pulling bag on luggage.stable driving.Cons.Too Low. It will touch the ground on small steep level changes like coming out of higher parking area on to the road. High speed Bumps.If you have installed hitch stabilizer with screws facing down it may ruin the ends when hits the ground and it may become difficult to remove the bolts.when folded It the screw leaves a little play and there is more noise with bumps etc.

I love this thing. The bed of my truck stays full and I hate emptying it just to go hunting so I bought this basket. I can use it for many things other than hunting, so it is very useful and convenient. Only thing I recommend is putting on visible reflection tape and getting a better stabilizer.

We’ve only taken one trip with this so far, but it stayed secure, didn’t shake or jangle around while driving holding the weight, and I felt comfortable driving with it on. I only drove with it loaded as when it was unloaded we didn’t drive around; so, I can’t speak on if it shakes around unloaded. I was sure to buy a locking pin and safety chains as well.The quality is good and it feels heavy and solid. Assembly wasn’t difficult at all. I was happy that retro-reflective stickers came with it as well for additional visibility at night for drivers behind me.

Needs anchor points for bungee or straps.Very easy to fold up and down.Reasonably easy to assemble and install, with two people.

This thing made me a little nervous eat first. Without the stabilizer this thing is pretty wobbly, still a little wobbly with the stabilizer but much more solid. I was very careful to have weight evenly loaded on it but if I didn’t I would say I would still be concerned about how sturdy this would be. It made it 600 miles down and back with no issues.On my expedition this thing is far enough back that the gate will open upward with no issues, depending on how high you load this there could be issues. It does flip up once unloaded which is pretty nice once you are unloaded at your destination, makes driving and parking much easier.Totally not weather proof at all. Not sure why that would be a rating for this. If you get the cover thing it becomes pretty weather resistant.
