Scotsman Commercial Undercounter Ice Maker with Bin

We had a 29 year old Scotsman ice flaker that finally crashed. We bought this commercial Scotsman for home use as they really do last, they've reduced the power consumption by half and the size is about half of the previous AF10 unit it replaced.We ordered it from Burkett and Sons, and 3 days later it arrived. Unfortunately, the shipping company significantly damaged the unit in transit. We contacted the seller, Burkett and Sons, and talked to Dave, the consummate professional in customer service. We took pictures, plugged it in at his suggestion, and noted 3 specific problems with the machine damaged by freight. Dave gave us the option to have a local service company come take a look return it for a refund, or have another unit shipped to us. 3 days later the new unit arrived. Upon connection, it immediately started working (very very quietly). It produced the specified amount of *** the most excellent flaked ice*** per hour.We really do like this machine, it's very quite, low profile, very easy to install, very low power consumption, and most interestingly, starts producing flaked ice in about 3 minutes from a cold start. That's impressive.We highly recommend the Scotsman UF-1415A, but even more so recommend Burkett and Sons. (and no, they didn't pay or incentivize me to give them a plug.)

The unit worked great for 11 months and then just complete working all together. Trying to find out if there is a warranty. Waiting for a reply.

This unit has good ice capacity and seems to be well built. Be aware that due to the larger storage capacity, the front of the unit will stick out in front of a standard depth kitchen countertop. Also, for the unit to fit under a standard height kitchen cabinet, the legs cannot be used which is not a problem since it is made to work with or without legs. The on/off switch and control panel is underneath the front cover which prevents unwanted adjustments. It comes with a 3 yr. warranty. The ice cubes it produces are a nice size and are clear. So far, I am very satisfied with this unit.

I have had a cheap $400.00 cube machine for a few years with no problems. came with a 1 year warranty. I have always wanted a nugget ice machine so I finally talked myself into buying a $3,000 machine with an advertised warranty of 3 years. Just got my new machine as I'm reading the paperwork and I see it has a 3 year warranty for commercial use only 1 year for residential. I called Scotsman in disbelief and yep, only one year. You would think with less wear and tear in a residence would have the same if not better warranty.. I really hope this thing will outlive my expectations.

Great ice machine!

Great Machine.... Installed in my house (even though they said not for a residential setup.) Started producing ice within 20 minutes. Added a filtration system for another $125.00. Figured it was worth it since the machine cost a lot. This should eliminate my kids using all the ice in the house.Over a year and half later and the machine is still operating as it was when I first turned it on. Works Great!

Obviously not to impressed.The room we were looking to use this in was under remodel. Once it was installed almost 2 wks. later than planned, we were excited to see it perform.It seemed to be working well but realized it would stop making ice. Contacted company about getting a replacement but missed the 30 day window by about a week with the late install and though was given options for warranty personnel - we would still need to cover travel.Giving one star because it does make ice if the ice is moved around from the sensors but has to be monitored and consistently restarted out of the fault error to keep the ice producing.30 days is 30 days, but I hope this review will help the company know there are circumstances that should be considered in a situation like this. As an athletic department at our university, we are reminding our dining to always be careful to get machines tested properly and to avoid certain companies and/or be aware of their strict policies.

Smaller than unit I replaced. Smaller cubes that come out in "sheets of cubes". Satisfied so far.
