Needle Lace Flowers: Creating Exquisite Flowers and Borders with Just a Needle and Thread

All the designs seem to use one kind of stitch. I was hoping to learn a greater variety of techniques and stitches.She does say that Oya is quite difficult, and maybe just using one stitch to make a variety of free form flowers is a good way to start.But I wish someone would write another book about this traditional fiber art. With more techniques and stitches.Most of this book is patterns for 3-D flower designs based on actual flowers, with color photos of the flowers for reference.The basic instructions (how to start, how to do the basic stitches) are at the back of the book.

This is a very interesting book about a little-known needle craft, at least here in the states. The pictures inside are beautiful and it outlines the exciting history and development of oya lace. my only issue is the beginner instructions were not clear and I had to find a video to better understand how to create the knots. I can't wait to try some of the patterns, though. they look amazing!

This book is so inspiring. Can't wait to try these out.

Beautiful flowers of needle lace are very difficult to create, but with a lot of patience and the great instructions in this book, you can do it.

I wish the book had border designs included as it states in the title, but the flowers will be challenging and all and all...good purchase.

Absolutely love this book! I love needlelace but I was also looking for a good Turkish Oya book for a long time and this book is perfect! Exactly what I was looking for! Clear, easy to follow and a brilliant choice of flowers to work on! Amazing!
