RuffwearWaterproof Dog Jacket with Fleece Lining, Very Large Breeds, Size: X-Large, Sockeye Red, Cloud Chaser, 05103-601L1

Ordered an XL and Large. Neither fit any of our 3 dogs: American Bulldog/Boxer, Boxer/Lab, or Basset Hound. For both the larger dogs, the jacket fit, but the distance between the arm openings is too close together, restricting movement and circulation. The XL was too long in the body for our Boxer/Lab. The Large was too long in the body for the Basset. All restricted movement in the arms and necks. The jacket arm openings were digging into their arms, restricting circulation. Requested return, but never heard back from seller. BTW, they don't fit any of my neighbors' dogs either. Also suggested they widen the distance for the arm openings. It's a shame because they are really well made, and would have been perfect. Since we live above 9,000 ft, we were really looking forward to having them last winter. :(

This is the only jacket my ultra sensitive pit bull X American bulldog mix will wear without putting up a fuss. Rogue has short hair (no undercoat) and like many shorthaired dogs he is nearly hairless between his front legs/under his belly. He hates going outside in cold weather but also hated every dog jacket I tried and would be reluctant to move, much less go potty, while wearing one. The softshell material of the Ruffwear jacket provides a close but flexible fit that moves with him, which I think he prefers over the more rigid construction of the "horse blanket" style dog coats that just sort of slide around when he walks/runs. It was 20 degrees F the day the jacket arrived. We put it on with minimal fuss and headed out for a walk. Rogue happily trotted off and did his usual pee on every post he saw as if he wasn't even wearing the jacket. I put my hand inside the jacket once or twice on the walk and was pleased at how warm he felt under it. His chest measures 35" and I bought a large, which fits him like a glove. Seems like a good option for deep chested dogs with more pronounced waists. Very pleased with this purchase!

This dog jacket is well made and gets the job done. My 9-year-old Pit/beagle mix has never worn a jacket even though we live in the Central NY State snow belt. Since he's getting older and we go out even on colder days, I decided he needed a little extra warmth. We bought a different jacket at a national chain pet store and he ran right out of it the first time he wore it, so back it went. This jacket stays on, seems to keep him warm & dry during the coldest, snowiest winter days, and the bright red color keeps him visible in the woods. The first time I put it on him, he wasn't happy because it's meant to be a bit snug, but as soon as he got in the woods and he started running, he seemed to forget about it. Even though this was more than I normally would pay for a dog jacket, it's well worth the price.

This is an effectively water resistant coat, but I just wish it had a bit more fleece for warmth. The sockeye red is a great color if you want your dog to be visible. Washes up well. I’m really looking for a winter waterproof warm coat, so this doesn’t quite fit the bill. The product itself is good quality. Durable materials, easy zipper, well stitched, seems a bit smaller than the Fleece Jacket I have in the same size. My dog has no undercoat, so I will keep looking for a warmer alternative.

We have an active dog, who likes to run through the woods. First time using this, he punched a hole through the soft side fleece material. I quick switched to using a tougher over coat. This is great for casual walks, or other gentle activities that dont include sticks, rocks, other dogs, etc.The fit of this jacket is different for a lot of other roughwear products - It's tighter and more form fitting, which is good, but does make putting it one a little more difficult.

Nice jacket! Our Vizsla it’s picky what’s on her but she likes it how it keeps her warm! She’s 3y/o about 43-45lb chest 27” medium fits her well. Front legs sleeves are little tight and might cause some discomfort like previous Vizsla owner pointed but we like this product and gonna do some costume adjustments for our princess:)

I bought my first Cloud Chaser 3+ years ago for my larger dog to hike with me. It's been excellent keeping mud and rain off her belly on our rainy Northwest hikes. I recently ordered one for my dachshund and it too, is a perfect fit. It covers his back and belly and the sleeves don't catch up in his short legs. Nice to finally find something that helps keep dirt/water/ debris off his belly! Dachshunds are a challenge to find functional clothing for! The company measurements are spot on, so if you've been looking for something to keep your pups dry, clean and warm, get this! Totally worth the price.

Nice materials and finish, light and breathable, but it's supposed to be a colder weather item which it falls a little short on. The built in loop for Ruffwear Beacon thoughtless placed. If your dog pulls it will pop it off the loop, although I'm not sure if it is more of a design flaw of the Jacket or the Beacon light.A quality item but a bit pricey for what it is.

all in all it is a good product but it does not exactly does what it claims to do as it is not 100% waterproof and leaves my dog with wet patches at the exact places that needed protection (ie his arthritic elbows)..the photo I have uploaded was after a walk in mild rain. When it is raining hard, the entire underbelly is completely soaked... bearing in mind the price, I am disappointed and will not be buying anything else from this brand.

We purchased a small size for our Cocker Spaniel ‘Daisy’ initially thought it might be too small but fits her comfortably, she measures approximately 47cms (18.5 inches) from neck to her back, not a cheap Jacket, (actually dearer than a couple of my jackets) however, quality materials and well made which I’m sure will last her for several wet and chilly seasons.

Excellent coat, have purchased them for years now for my spaniel. Keeps him dry and his undercarriage clean from the mud.Easy to care for, just wash in Nikwax Tech wash to re waterproof it, especially if your like mine . Bit expensive, but I usually by in sale. Well worth the money. Even has a tag for a light in the dark mornings and reflective bands down the side. I bought the medium, excellent fit. FabThis coat is excellent, continue to buy, hard wearing and keeps my spaniel clean and dry.

This is the second lot of these coats we have purchased. The price was some £20 less with Amazon which is amazing. Medium fits our three working cocker spaniel well. The larger of the three it is neat but fits well. These coats are fantastic in the rain as it keeps their backs dry and their under carriage is covered but the material is not waterproof so gets wet but a bonus been covered. We are delighted with these coats.

I know people think this coat is expensive but we are paying for waterproof breathable, put a bin liner over yourself and you will keep rain out, but you’ll be just as wet from sweat, I have 3 off these coats for my current dog Ted, and had them for my 2 previous dogs Staffies, so I know them to be robust, people stated the underside is not waterproof, well it’s not but the water comes from the top and that is waterproof.
