Japanese & English Educational Toys for 3 Year Old, Flash Cards (Flag Matching)

As someone who is a frequent shopper at Daiso, I was hesitant to buy these at this price, but my Daiso doesn't have them. I have no regrets, my kiddo entering 2nd grade at his Japanese school does not know all of his 1st grade Kanji and know both he and my kiddo entering Kindergarten know them (the 3 year old picked up a couple as well). Gamifying learning works. So just buy the cards, they now request practicing.

My kids and I are learning Japanese and our teacher recommended a かるた　game for practice. She has a different version she uses during lessons so we were familiar with the way it works. A moderator reads a card and the players have to find the respective card as quickly as possible. The person with the most cards wins. There are more rules but that’s it in a nutshell. This was perfect with the downloadable readings since we aren’t very fluent with reading out loud yet ourselves.
