Warmlite WL46031 Lavenham LED Log Effect Fire Stove with Adjustable Thermostat Control, 1800W, Black

We have a little-used Grateglow gas fire installed in our fireplace and decided that, rather than having it taken out, we’d go for a portable electric flame effect fire to sit in front if it. The Lavenham is a good looking fire, well made, with a realistic coal effect (not the log effect that is on box and in the description) and is the perfect size for our fireplace. We’re very pleased with it... except the fire is advertised as being LED; however, the 2 bulbs which provide the flame effect were old-fashioned incandescent bulbs, not LED bulbs as in the Amazon description and on the box it came in. The 2 incandescent bulbs consume 40 watts each, whereas LED bulbs would consume only 4 watts each. This may seem a trivial thing, but if you like having just the flame effect lit on an evening, it could cost you nearly £40 a year for electric instead of just £4.After contacting Amazon, they offered me a partial refund to purchase and fit the LED lamps myself. The fire needs two E14 dimmable LED candelabra bulbs (plenty of choice here on Amazon) and fitting is easy: just unplug the fire, remove the 4 screws holding the small plate on the back of the fire, reach in and replace the bulbs.If you want to check if a fire has LED lamps fitted, switch on the flame effect only (no heating), leave for half an hour, then feel the top of the fire. If it is warm, you have incandescent bulbs fitted. If it’s cold, they are LEDs.

Love the look, the flame effect makes it feel really cozy. It’s instant heat and so easy to use. Plug it in switch it on and enjoy! Very happy.

The fire really kicks out alot of heat...the flames add to making it look real..Really pleased with it

Mini stove arrived soon after placing order and was well packaged. This item is a sealed unit and requires no extra installation other than to plug it in to a live socket and then select the preferred settings from the easy to use control switches. It sits down well on its circular rubber pads. Glow can be adjusted and the imitation flames are subtle and compliment the coal bed quite well. The two levels of heat choice seem right for this unit too. Being able to just have the light effects on without any heat is what we required too.However, there are some points of limitation that require highlighting and to bear in mind this is a very inexpensive item & ought not to be relied on as a main full on fire. If you intend to replace a regular fireplace unit with this one be prepared for the shortness in height as it is not regular size.This is not a true stove, more of an immitation as no doors or cooking facility is present and should really be titled better I think.The most obvious flaw once unpacked is the fact all of the control switches and dials are on the rear of the unit??.Furthermore, due to the power supply cable exiting from the rear backplate (rather than beneath a unit or recessed somehow) the stove cannot be pushed backwards to fit neatly against the wall. It can only stand out proud. From a safety point of view if the fire is used over a decent period of time it is likely to get hot and in order to switch it off or down it needs physically pulling forward first!I. . . Ouch.So to recap, it's a cracking small occasional & compact fire at a competitive price but it has to be loosely placed/installed for easy access to its rear backplate for switching on and off etc.

Good qualityGreat flame effect

Only down side is the fan is a little noisy but not to the point that it stops me using it. There are 2 settings and the high one really kicks out some heat, easily making our lounge warm on the coldest days this year!

Nice looking. Well made. But had to return it because the cable was too short. It would not reach the plug socket. They should make cable much longer as you cannot use an extension cable with it

Fire is great, good on fuel too, gets very hot, so don't need it on for long as it warms room well.
