I got 10+ years out of my Porter Cable 12V drill. I love this for its compact size and amazing performance. However, Li-on's don't last forever. I considered replacing the cells, but found these. These are great batteries for the money. Replacement cells alone would have cost $18.00 per pack of 3. Plus all the aggravation of building the packs. And these are 3.0 Ah, where the originals were 1.2Ah, so I expect much better performance.I got these and immediately took apart, because that is what I do. To follow up on what William Eks did. Once you pop the bottom off the new batteries, the batteries will slip out with a little persuasion from the top. Compared to the originals, the electronics are a bit taller, but overall size is the same. I noticed that the original shell was closed at the bottom where the new ones are not. You will need to pop off the top of the original shell as well to remove the batteries. (Not fully shown, but you can easily find the 3 clips, one is hidden in pic). I took my Dremel, cut off the bottom of the old shell and used a sanding drum to smooth it out in the battery indentations. I slipped in the new pack, attached the top and bottom and voila. Perfect fit in the old shell, charger and drill. Or, simply use as they come. They will fit in charger and drill with no problems. I just like the OE look and the gray plastic is easier to spot in the bottom of a tool box. Total time, maybe 10-15 mins each.Worst case, I buy new cells, build a pack and slip into the now unused new shells with just a little more padding at the bottom.

Being unable to find OEM replacement batteries for my geriatric tools I turned to chinese replacements. These fit tight (maybe a but too tight) and take a good charge. It is too early to be talking about longevity, but I am optimistic. Glad to not have to replace my tools just because Porter Cable doesn't support them with batteries anymore.

Seems to provide as good power as original battery. Yet to see how long they last.

Cannot replace orig. Porter Cable batteries for my reciprocating saw which I love. These fit with a little force but last only a month or two with minor use. I guess I will have to replace the saw.
