If you are looking for a reasonably priced fireplace that makes your firebox look great all year long then you could do a lot worse than this unit.My wife just loves it , it's great you do not need the heat on and can just watch the flames.The only negative that has been mentioned in many reviews is the short electric cord but that is no deal breaker I also purchased the Firmest 6 foot 1875 wat rated extension cord from Amazon as well.I rarely post any reviews but HAPPY WIFE-HAPPY LIFE!!!

I just use this for the visual setting- I don’t need the heater, and it does draw a lot of power and trip my overload protection extension cord. I know you can get a cord rated for higher load. When I tested out the heater it worked great. Very warm and the fan did a nice job distributing the heat into the room.What I really love about it, though, is how realistic the “fire” looks! I’ve been keeping it on all the time this winter. It really brightens up my dark, depressing fireplace, and I can stare at the “flames” just like a real fire. Which is way more trouble than it’s worth, because my fireplace totally stinks— it eats wood stupid fast, sucks all the heat up the chimney, and spits dust-fine ash all over my living room. This is the perfect solution, and I don’t know how I lived so long without it.

The media could not be loaded. I am pleased with how the unit looks, and build quality seems good. Puts out a decent amount of heat. I installed it in an old, burned out, prefab fireplace. Didn't want or need to completely restore the fireplace, so decided to go electric. Nobody is going to mistake it for a real fire, but it really does add ambiance to the room! The projected "flames" actually liik realistic. Remote control seems a bit quirky, but it works. You can, of course, hear the blower when on heat mode. We often just use it without heat just for the decorative effect and it is perfectly silent. Overall very pleased, just hope it lasts.

I've only had these sheets a few weeks, so the following are only my initial impressions. If they change in any way with additional use, I'll update my review below (and indicate which part is original and which part is an update, along with the date of update).This fireplace space heater insert has both significant pros and notable cons.Pros: - This looks incredibly nice in my large fireplace. No, the flames don't look ridiculously realistic. Guess why? Because they aren't real flames ;). If you want the look of 100% real flames, you need to build a 100% real fire. Understand that this won't look like one. But it also doesn't have flames lapping out into the air of the room, create any of the mess, present nearly the dangers, etc. With my lights out and the space heater on with the flame effects going, it looks great. I've had many guests tell me that it just makes the whole space so much more comfortable. Even turned off, the faux log holder and logs look about as realistic as you're going to get without buying...a real log holder and logs.Cons: - The heat that this puts out is very minimal. Like I have to hold my hand 1/2" from the bottom grate to even tell if I have the heat function turned on. It definitely doesn't keep me warm on the couch just 3' in front of the unit. I did buy this primarily for the ambiance, and it met that need 100% (despite what others say about it). If you're buying it for the heating functionality, which I know most people are, I would look elsewhere. - There definitely is a hum, as other reviews mention. It in no way bothers me, though...it's softer than the hum of the hvac unit, and without practically any other device turned on (stereo, tv, dishwasher, etc) the noise is completely unnoticeable. - The biggest con is the remote. First, it beeps (loudly) with any and every button that you push. I just don't need that...seeing the lights flick on, or hearing the hum of the heater turn on, are more than enough affirmation for me. But no, the beeping doesn't take away from the "realism" of the logs - when's the last time you saw someone grab a remote to instantly active a real fire in their fireplace, anyway? But there are more cons to this remote. The buttons for heater, timer, and flame have no "+/-," so you have absolutely no idea what the setting is, without looking into your fireplace to the side of the actual unit. It would be nice to know whether my heater is on high or low heat, or how long I have it set before turning off, without having to look into the fireplace. At that point, I don't even need the remote, because no matter what I hit on the remote, I still have to go up to the unit and look.Overall, I love the look of this fireplace space heater insert. For that, alone, it was worth the money, to me - it adds a ton of ambiance. For heating functionality, or design of the remote, this gets a 1 star.

I love it!!! Ambience and relaxation !! I don’t like the smoke from the natural wood so I found this ! The best thing I could have ever gotten!! The heat is awesome!! Very realistic !! Beautiful

I am so happy with the fireplace. The stuffed animals, my grandkids leave near stay cool and safe. However, even at a distance of the adjourning room, our bodies still feel the special infar warmth. The fireplace logs are realistic but safe and smokeless. * I wish the electric cord was longer, it promptly flipped the surge protector extension we tried to use. (the directions recommend direct plug only) *Ours could not reach, but we were able to find a heavier extension cord rated for more watts and it has performed well with that. *We have a Visio T.V. and have discovered the channel forward and the back button is on the same frequency as the fireplace remote, it turns it off or on, but we don't use the remote often, so it's not too much of an issue for us. * The firelog framing has a blower at the bottom, which would have been maybe half-blocked just sitting on the stone floor inside our hearth, because of the metal framing lip edge our hearth model has. Thankfully, I also purchased a bag of lava rocks so it would all be as realistic as possible, that addition allowed us to elevate the logs perfectly, while also adding to the aesthetics.

Wanted to look toasty with my Christmas decor didn’t want to have to deal with the fireplace logs and the smoke so we just bought one of these and popped it in there. Fit perfect, warmed up the area & it’s just darling you can pull it out at any time.

This fireplace is great looking and puts out good heat in our room. The only problem with the fireplace is plugging it into the wall. You can't use an extension cord because of fire danger. IT ONLY has a 5 ft. cord to plug in -- I know two friends that have ordered this product and that the same grip - why such a short cord????????
