They do take about a week to settle (except for the E string which is not gut anyway) but man the first thing you feel is how soft they feel and the tone is very balanced, with the warmth and projection any violinist would appreciate. Not cheap but I am not using anything else.

I love these strings for my own violin, but different violins can require different strings. They are not cheap; they require at least a week to fully stabilize; and they do break. I recommend asking an experienced violin maker what might be best to match the violin you are using and also to match what you are playing and how you are playing it.

Instant love of these Pirastro Passione violin strings! They have the warm, rich sound of a gut string without the inconsistent tuning. I've tried a lot of the Pirastro strings, but these are my new favorites.

I was searching for gut strings. I read Passione strings are reliable strings. Yes. it is true that the passione strings reached stability after one week. The sound was pleasant and sweet. I found it brighter than my Obligato that I replaced. I put Passione on my 2nd. violin. Did not match it either. Overall, I think it is a good set of strings for anyone wanting gut strings with stablility.

Light and sweet tone. Surprisingly durable for a gut string. However, they're capricious with weather and humidity changes and hard to keep in tune under these circumstances. Break in time is also longer than synthetic core. The pros are still greater than the cons.
