We have the square Johnson Controls thermostats at work for every zone. Several of these are in places where the general public has the opportunity to make adjustments. Despite our HVAC only having a 3 degree variance on either side of neutral, this does cause disturbances in the workplace. This is a great solution. It seems sturdy for the money, and works great. It installed super easy and the key, while tight, works excellently. It's sturdy enough to discourage people from trying to pry it open and would fit those standard round home thermostats too. It comes with all the parts you need and keeps people from meddling with the controls.

Well, I bought this for my mother that has just last year added central air in her house. She has been housing my grown adult nephew for a year or so. She has made the comment of him always adjusting the temperature in HER home. Mind you, nephew does not work, plays games all night and sleeps most of the day. He does all this while not paying a dime to my mother. So, I bought and installed this so she can control HER house temperature. Needless to say, She went on a weekend trip shortly after installed it. When she returned home, she found it in pieces on the floor. I would of hoped that it would of busted his hand up as well, but no luck. I will be making a trip to my mother's house this weekend to have a "talk" with my grown man/child, unemployed nephew. I will ask him to pay for the box that he broke (which he can't) or I will ask him to repair it. I will probably have to order a new one or maybe a steel box to replace it. Anyway, I would give it 5 stars if it would of wrecked his hand a bit.

Keeps our very smart 3 year old out. We use it for our Nest thermostat. I like that it’s clear. The guard that is made specifically for the Nest didn’t have such great reviews (the majority of people had the same issue: that it could be taken off easily and wasn’t actually keeping their toddler out). So we opted for this one because the reviews said that it works well to keep the kiddos out and I have to say that yes, it keeps everyone out who doesn’t have the key! So it’s very effective. I would just keep the key in a safe place hidden away but near the thermostat so it’s not annoying to have to walk to a drawer far off in the distance when you want to make a quick change to the temp. We have a mirror above ours and we just put it on top of there.

I bought this a year ago in 2022 after a family member came over my house and changed my NEST thermostat temperature. However, I just now installed it in Summer 2023 because it was changed a second time. I love the fact that it has keys, but the BEST part is that now no one can walk past my thermostat and see that it’s set to “Polar”. The NEST thermostat does not light up anymore when someone walks past it. Huge plus! I’m absolutely in love and the price was great! TheresaCeeTV for more Amazon reviews etc.

I was about to write a great review of this cover. It fits an Ecobee perfectly. And it's not too big, unlike some other covers project out too far. It's easy to install. It looks like it would protect your thermostat. BUT - it's easy to break the plastic cover into lots of little pieces. A child did that to mine with her bare hand. That makes it useless. Now I have to find something that is made of much stronger plastic.
