Mover Of Men and Mountains Paperback – June 1, 1967

I read this book years when attending LeTourneau University. I now buy a copy a few times a year for men in my life as it is such an impactful story and one that guys love because of the equipment and construction detailed.

This information should be read by anyone at some point in their life when entering the world of work.

Even if you’re not spiritual, this is a very moving book! I don’t understand why this man is not more well known. Honestly, I had to speed read past the machine details (boring to me!) but aside from that, WOW!!! Seriously, this man influenced our world! Created nations! Had a major hand in WWII! Changed lives for the greater good just from being inquisitive and passionate in teaching others. It lead me to further research him… again, WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT HIM??? And LeTourneau University is a top notch Poly Tech school that feed those inquisitive, ADHD minds- I’m SO grateful for this man’s obedience!

This is a wonderful story of a faithful man, it used to be so well known but sadly now forgotten yet the same God is there still to such works.

Great information and testimony

This book is excellent, and I recommend it highly. It is worth reading more than once, because one would then be able to go back to the beginning and see how the Lord led him one step at a time to provide him with the experience and knowledge he would need to take the next step He had planned for him. For example, once he was thriving in a job at a steel mill and learning about metal machining from an old German journeyman -- until one night the mill burned down, leaving him without a job. Working at a navy yard introduced him to electric motors on ships. Working at a battery plant taught him how to weld. Financial mismanagement by a partner while he was working in the navy yard caused him to move on to repair earth moving equipment, and then to a request for him to drive that equipment to show that it would work for a while without breaking down. Doing this, he noticed improvements that could be made to the equipment so that more dirt could be hauled by fewer workers in less time. This cycle repeated over and over again. The story would make a great Sunday School lesson on how God can lead us through various difficulties for a purpose that He has in mind but that we cannot yet see. I haven't mentioned how he got involved in public speaking by a guy who thought he couldn't do anything of the sort -- and who seemingly had no time for such things. I'll leave that part for the reader to discover how the Lord provided both the ability to speak and simultaneously and unexpectedly provided Mr. LeTourneau with many of his most productive, creative hours. Reading this book has been an inspiration to me, and I'm sure to many others.

My grandson wants to go to LaTourneau University, the school named for this man. I wanted him to know what a special man inspired the building of his school.

This is a read for all regardless of age, status or whether an employee or employer. It will inspire you to make adjustments in your life in order for all to prosper - spiritually and materially.
