I have mixed epoxy, but didn't know about epoxy putty
I replaced my dishwasher circulation motor, and the rubber inside one of the inserts was damaged, and as these motors don't come with accessories to replace anything damaged, I thought I would give this product a try. You cut off a piece and can see the different kinds of epoxy are separated by inside and outside so you just squeeze them together to mix well, form with your hands the shape you need, and apply. Boom, in just a few minutes it is rock hard and effectively fit around the damaged part of the dishwasher. This little tube of epoxy putty saved me the cost of replacing my dishwasher because I don't know of a way my problem could have been fixed otherwise. It continues to hold up wash after wash. WHEW!

Use it fresh, or not at all.
I gave a partially used tube of this to a helper to use on an outdoor sculpture. The person took the tube and worked outside for over an hour. When I went to check on it, it was useless. Hard as a rock. So I ordered another tube, and I am not opening it until I am prepared to start and finish the job. It is not expensive and useful if you do it right.

Same as namebrand, correct price!
This is how much all epoxy putty should cost inflation is a nightmare before they inflate why don’t they inflate our pockets for our hard work first? Speaking of hard work this stuff gets the job done

Water has a way of defeating most patchwork
Slowed down the water leak on my food disposer but didn't stop it. Water always finds it way through the tiniest of cracks and channels. You could put 5 pounds of this stuff on whatever you're repairing but know that it's temporary and expect some degree of failure. In all fairness, the putty can't think for itself. It's not going to automatically fix a leak just because you followed the directions to a T. If it slows down a leak to a trickle so your catch bucket doesn't fill up near as fast, you win.

fixed a pinhole leak in copper pipe
A few months ago we had a bad pinhole leak in a copper pipe near a wall stud and electrical box, inside the wall behind the bathroom vanity sink. We expected to have to open up the wall under the vanity and do cutting and soldering. Instead, after turning off the water, we dried then cleaned the pipe with sandpaper and vinegar. We cut off about 1/2" of the epoxy putty, mixed it for about a minute, then formed and pressed it around the pipe where the leak was. After about 2 hours, when we were sure the epoxy patch was hardened and sealed, we turned on the water. The leak was fixed, without any cutting and soldering! It is still fixed months later, with no problems so far.UPDATE: as of 12/1/08 the leak is still fixed. The putty is still working well and I would happily use it again if or when we spring another leak somewhere else in the plumbing.UPDATE: In 2011 the leak returned and we fixed it permanently with new pipe. This plumber's epoxy putty lasted over 3 years which isn't bad for a temporary fix. Considering we are on well water it is even more impressive.

Didnt Work at all.
Ok, Followed directions. Cut off water, No pressure on pipe. Kneaded as directed. Applied to clean dry surface of the 2 leak areas. Started hardening immediately. Great! Waited 24 hrs. Turned on water. Leaked. These 2 areas were 1 occasional drip and 1 seep barely... This was used on Galvanized Pipe. but was worthless for this situation. I cut out 15 ft section of the pipe and replaced with pex pipe. Hope this helps someone. Sometimes you just have to replace the leaking areas.
