Solid product
We thought we would have to replace our entire door but so happy this was available. Super easy to install, be sure to follow the steps for proper alignment. Would absolutely buy again.

Fit like it was OEM
Easy to install and fit like the original. Dogs will take a bit to get used to it as the flap is a little heavier than the one it replaced. The opaque black rubber will take some getting used to by our dogs as well, they are used to being able to see through the old one. Fits tight and the magnets seem to hold it closed even though it is windy and snowy today. No more snow drift in the garage.

Sturdy flap!
Like other people have mentioned, this is darker than the original, but also a lot sturdier. I bought 2 of the replacements for my large size PetSafe Ultimate doors a few years ago (1 for immediate use and one as a spare.) In my setup, I use 2 of the pet doors (1 going into my mud room and one going to the outside) to help minimize the heating/cooling losses. This has worked amazingly well in letting my dogs take care of themselves when we are at work. One thing to be aware of: I had to drill 2 holes in the "U-bracket" as it did not include them. This was pretty easy, but just be aware (if you look in the picture you can see there is no hole there, but there is a place where it should be.) I am GUESSING that MAYBE some dogs got stuck in the U-bracket and that is both why that style of flap was discontinued and also why these don't come with the holes. In the original, there was a breakaway feature with a slit to let the dogs pull the flap free that was held in place by friction. I haven't figured out how to duplicate that (maybe if I cut a slit in the hole I drilled and added a slight over-ring like the original had???)So far my dogs haven't had any issues and its been over 2 years, so maybe that was not why the originals were discontinued???

Fits the door perfectly, simple install, not easy
This replacement flap assembly arrived quickly and is exactly the same as my original door. The door was installed by the builder around 5 years ago. I was able to get this replacement installed by myself, but the install was a bit of a pain. There are 6 screws that are used from the original flap, and in my case they sandwich screw, flap, and a metal plate with matching holes. The original flap could not be removed without unscrewing all 6, and then the new flap was hard to position after resuming following directions. A second set of hands would be very helpful, to hold the plate until outer screws attach or consider replacing the original screws and adding a washer. I got it done but will probably need to adjust a little for a straighter hang. I used a regular screwdriver as instructions specified. The reason to replace was that the u-shaped channel broke and was dragging on the ground. Time will tell whether this new flap holds up.

Perfect Replacement for Johnson Ultimate Dog Door
I am writing this in March of 2023. I bought the large size Pride Pet Door to replace my old Johnson Ultimate Large Pet Door which was about 10 - 13 years old. This door was a perfect match. Some other reviews mentioned something about extra holes on the old Johnson that had to be punched through the Pride door. I did not have this problem. Another reviewer mentioned something about a metal strip that fell off when uninstalling, I didn't encounter this either. I was anticipating both problems so I was paying particular attention. I have a 50 lb Rat Terrier mix that has been using a dog door for 10 years, so is very used to it. In the last 2 months I started dog sitting an 80 lb Black Lab that has never used a dog door. It took him a couple days to get used to going through the Johnson door to the outside. It took him another week to get used to coming back inside through it (who knows??). He is a very gentle dog and maybe it took more pushing to come inside. The Pride door is solid black and cannot be seen through and is heavier than the Johnson door. Despite the differences, both dogs went in and out of the door immediately after installation without any second thoughts. I am very pleased with the Pride Door; it is solid, very flexible even in cold weather and does a fine job of sealing. I have noticed when the wind is blowing hard there is a little cold air that comes through. I should add that I have a home made dog house that I put up against the house where the dog door is with a second dog door the dog has to go through to get outside or come inside. This disguises the fact that I have a dog door and also helps to cut down on the amount of cold air that comes into the house.
