These are to be used with a regular swim nappy, like a double layer of protection. So if the normal nappy leaks then this will catch any escape

You need to wear a disposable / reusable swim nappy underneath the happy nappy. The happy nappy keeps the nappy in place and should anything leak the idea is that the happy nappy will keep it from leaking (hence it’s supposed to be slightly tight on the legs.

My baby is 9 months and about 7kg, she is wearing a large (6-14 months) at the moment

Q: What is the difference between this and the happy nappy wetsuit?

The arms are sunsuit material and are not wetsuit material. There happy nappy wetsuit is a full wetsuit.
