Good mount - straight.
I put a 34mm scope on my rifle with this Vortex mount. The scope was under $500, and less expensive than the 30mm tubed one I removed. Somehow the rifle shoots smaller patterns now (after the scope and scope mount change) even though I am using the same ammo. Why, I am asking myself? I checked the ring alignment and this mount did not require lapping (as opposed to most other rings/mounts I have). I'm going to confirm it, but I doubt the old scope was at fault for any lack of accuracy. I can see the old mount is not as solid of a design as this Vortex. Maybe I need to look into getting some better mounts for some of my other scopes? Curious now.

Viper PST with a 50mm objective + AR10 = happiness
Perfect for a new vortex viper pst 6x24x50 on an Ar10 with a 1913 railed handgaurd up front.The main concern i had; would it clearance the scope away from the handgaurd rail w/o touching.The answer: The front of the scope clearances the rail with magpul rail ladders installed nicely and has a decent but not excessive gap.I also lapped the rings a little with a tool I already had.The rings seemed aligned well enough, but there was a noticeable change in the contact area after doing a few passes with the lapping tool.Overall not bad for the $$.Beats shelling out $400 for a larue qd mount, especially when i already had a lapping tool for the 30mm rings. ;)I'll do some zero tests this summer and update this review if i have issues.I like to store the rifle and scope seperate due to space limitations in the safe, so having a somewhat quick detachable mount is a big plus.

When buying mounts the correct height is important.
It’s a good mount. The height I needed. I used it on a AR10 6.5 creedmoor with a Vortex 5x25x50 Viper ffp.
