PYRAMIDS OF MARS In this Fourth Doctor adventure, the TARDIS materializes on Earth in the year 1911 inside an old priory owned by Egyptologist Marcus Scarman. Scarman has been possessed by Sutekh, last survivor of the god-like Ossian's, who is being held prisoner inside a pyramid in Egypt by a signal transmitted from a pyramid on Mars. Sutekh wants to be free and instructs Scarman to use robots, which look like Egyptian mummies, to build a pyramid-shaped rocket with which to destroy the Martian pyramid. The Doctor blows up the missile but falls under Sutekh's control and is made to transport Scarman to Mars to cut off the signal controlling the prison. The Doctor, freed of Sutekh's influence, rushes back to Earth and uses the time control from the TARDIS to move the end of the space-time tunnel that Sutekh is travelling down into the far future where, unable to reach the end, Sutekh ages to death.

Probably one of the best if not THE BEST classic Doctor Who collector sets.
In one pack you are getting a very accurate representation of the characters and set pieces found in the Pyramid of Mars episode. From the great sculpt of Sutekh with his iconic headdress, to the small canopic jars, everything looks absolutely brilliant. The delicate details of the Sarcophagus make an excellent replica of the real prop, with the lenticular insert recreating the look of the"time tunnel" hidden inside. The paint applications are on every piece are exquisite, with Marcus Scarman having that pale skin with pink eyes recognizable from the episode. Sutekh's helmet with it's red on black paint scheme, looks very much like the one used on screen.each figure is well articulated, offering good poseability while not compromising detail. Though because of his stiff vinyl skirting, Sutekh does have a hard time sitting, but on the plus side he does feature his "brainwashing" glowing green eyes that actually light up.The Osiran war rocket, while being made from cardboard is an excellent and surprisingly sturdy representation of the set piece in the episode. It fits together well and looks good as a place to display the figures, but as it is made from card won't handle rough play by children.Really, I can only nitpick little things.... In fact my only real criticism is that I wish there were more pieces included in the set,for example, neither of the canopic jars has the shield generator part that was present in the two others available in the mummy packs and it would have been nice to have those. It also would have been nice to have either a few more set pieces from the priory (like the piano or candleabras) or Sutekh's throne...or perhaps another figure: Such as Dr. Warlock or Namin either of which could have been easily made from the Scarman body with new heads. But the biggest shame pf all is that now so few of these types of sets in the 5 inch range are being released anymorebecause of the switch to the terrible 3 3/4" scale toys.Overall I love this set, and am very happy to have it on display in my living room.

Amazing Detail
This set is a great value for the money, as it contains two rare action figures. Professor Scarman, and a variant of Sutek, with a masked head. It also comes with a a Sarcophagus time machine, two canoptic jars, scrolls, and a card stock Orison war rocket. The only con is that being card stock the rocket is easily crumpled, mine is on the triangular base. All of the figures and accessories are amazingly detailed, and stunningly accurate. There are many figures from this particular Doctor Who story, so this play-set is a must for die hard fans.

BETTER Pyramids of Mars Set
You may not realize it, but "big kids" love Doctor Who figures, too. My grown daughter and I made a wonderful grouping on top of my china cabinet, with this set, one of the mummies from the other set, and some other Egyptian stuff. Looks GREAT. "Pyramids of Mars" is my favorite Doctor Who story. If Underground Toys would make a new set from "Image of the Fendahl," with the gold lady, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Thanks for making this set - it's so much better than the other one.

Not really a "Priory" but a cool collector's set nonetheless.
Doctor Who: Pyramids of Mars (Story 82) is not only one of the best Tom Baker serials but is also one of the best stories of Classic Doctor Who that dealt with fascinating themes of ancient Egyptian aliens two decades before the movie Stargate (Extended Cut) [Blu-ray ] popularized the idea. The Priory set is a welcome companion piece to the Sutekh 3-pack Pyramids of Mars - MARS Collectors Set previously released by Underground Toys. It does NOT include the priory study that is pictured on the front of the box which is a bit disappointing. It would have been cool to have included a diorama backdrop playset of Egyptologist Marcus Scarman's study to display the Sarcaphagus on the steps as shown. Instead it includes a folding 3-D cardboard Osirian war rocket/pyramid with a carboard base and ramp and comes with action figures of Marcus Scarman with 2 canopic jars, Coordinate Selector, a new Sutekh figure wearing Osirian death mask with light-up LED eyes which is really cool, as well as a 2-piece sarcaphagus with lenticular "Stargate" to simulate the 3-D stargate special effect which is also really cool. The sarcaphagus is packaged tightly into the vac-form plastic tray and when I tried to remove it it left scuff marks on either side of the plastic. The Jackal helmet from the previous Sutekh set also fits on the Marcus Scarman figure but is not included in this set so you'll definitely want to get that set as well in order to get both masks seen in the episode. Also, the inclusion of a Tom Baker 4th Doctor or Sarah Jane Smith would have rounded out this set. Still, I highly recommend it if you are fan of classic Doctor Who and "The Pyramids of Mars" you will definitely want to get this set as well as the companion Sutekh 3-pack that comes with 2 robot mummy figures sold separately.

Lovely set that will
A really nicely designed set, with great figures, especially of Sutekh and his glowing green eyes! very spooky. The canopic jars, with removable lids are a nice touch as is the mummy case with the lenticular image within. downside is the cheap card pyramid, it looks like something you'd give your granny Ferrero Roche in at Xmas. and clearer, more visible instructions on exactly how to replace the batteries in Sutekh's head would be better, rather than hidden away on the base of the box. also the Box cover shows a diorama setting inside the priory (the library) that isn't actually part of this set,-- rather deceptive that. Otherwise all things considered this is a perfect gift for a fan who loves the story, or even for yourself!

priory collector set
great item. not pleased about customs charge and mail handling fee. customs also damaged box slightly when they attempted to open it. still given 5 stars as not sellers fault. dare not open box in case damages it further. but looks like great item. well worth the wait.

The best Dr Who action figure set?
The best doctor who action figure set? Well, first of all the set arrived in time and really fast (2-3 days) the box was damaged in various areas but that didn't bother me much. The figures were all fantastic! Especially sutekh with the light up eyes! The osiran war rocket was great too. Although it was made of (heavy duty) card it was still great. Overall a brilliant set 10/10. This could be the "Best" doctor who action figure set that has ever been made... and it's FANTASTIC!

This is one of the best sets from the Dr Who range
This is one of the best sets from the Dr Who range, and really encapsulates the feel of Pyramids of Mars - one of the best Tom Baker stories in my opinion. Sutekh is truly one of the hardest foe the Doctor ever encountered, and the figure in this set is excellent. This is one set that will be on display for a long time....
