clean install
This item is easy to install and it does a nice clean job of hiding the wires after install. It is a must have for home theater enthusiast who want a nice clean look.update:still enjoy the item and it does what it's supposed to but i have had issues with the depth of the product and the space needed between the walls. The cables feed thru it effortlessly but they can only be fed one way. The wires can either come thru one end of the plate due to the design inside the wall, so it would be from the top or bottom. There is a curve inside the plate that will only allow the wires to be "run" inside the wall from one direction. so keep this in mid if you are trying to feed wires from both top and bottom, it can be done but it will be a more difficult install.

Perfect Passthrough Cable Plate for RJ45 Ethernet Cables
I just bought a house that has been completely wired with RJ45 cable but the previous owner did not have it neatly organized when I moved in. Instead of having any kind of wall plate, they had an uneven cutout in the drywall. There were 30 cat 5e cables that I needed to pass through whatever wall panel I decided to go with. In the end, I decided that a 3 gang box was the way to go. It may be a little bigger than I needed, but I wouldn't have changed my decision to go with anything smaller. This wallplate does not come with a wall bracket, so if you need one of those I would recommend going with the "Legrand - On-Q AC101003 3Gang Low Voltage Bracket, Retrofit" here on Amazon. A little pricey for a piece of plastic, but overall it's worth it to have a clean home network setup.

Great
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is only the top piece with the 2 screws. I thought it came with a Gang Plate but it doesn’t.You’ll need a gang plate or Gang box to attach it to. Although that’s not what we did. We had to make new holes anyways so we just cut them smaller than the average socket size.2 inches by 3 inches for a perfect fit if you plan on just screwing it into the Sheetrock.

Great face plate for passing wires into conduit
I used these with flexible PVC pipe (as conduit) to pass my low voltage video, network, other cables from my component closet to my projector. This way I can fish wires through as standards progress and I'm not stuck with HDMI, or some other cable in the wall. The smerf tube is corrugated and very difficult to pass cables through for very long runs whereas the smooth flexible pvc pipe does have that issue and lines up fairly well with the opening on these face plates. I will be using these again in the future. Somewhat expensive but makes for a very clean looking install.

Perfect for what I needed.
I purchased this 2 gang low voltage receptacle to run a lot of wires through for a 7.1 surround sound system. That means it was large enough for 7 speaker wires, a cable TV wire, one HDMI cable and I also ran a spare HDMI through it just to hang there in case the first HDMI goes bad—easier than fishing a replacement through the configuration of my set up. This two gang recepticle is the perfect size for all those wires with no room to spare. I like the way it sits flat on the wall and the “cup” portion of it goes back into the wall—so even with all those wires coming out, it looks organized. I bought two of these—one to go behind the TV (which could have been the single gang version because only the HDMI goes into the TV—the speaker wires go to the speakers in the ceiling) and one to go near all the components (the receiver/cable box/DVD player). Note that you need to install an electrical outlet near your TV for plugging in the power cord. It is against building codes to run power cords behind the wall. So this should not be used for power cords. Note that it does not come with the mounting bracket so you need to purchase that separately. I highly recommend that you DO purchase that. It makes installation of this plate much more secure. I had to fish a lot of wires through this recepticle and with all that pulling and tugging I surely would have loosened the recepticle had I just screwed it into drywall. The mounting bracket ensures that it is attached securely to the wall and gives you a secure base to screw the recepticle into. Highly recommend this product. If my review was helpful, please let Amazon know by clicking “helpful”. Thanks.

Installed on a wall with minimal clearance, slight mod
Hello,I have a tv mounted on a wall in my studio and just had the hdmi cable dangling to the floor.Didn't really want to spend a lot of money and thought it would be nice to put the cable in the wall. This wall is an outer wall to the studio. Concrete with about 3/4 space then drywall. The product 1-Gang Recessed Low Voltage Cable Plate in white, would not fit. After taking a depth measurement and then used my hacksaw, I removed a small amount of the back. Now my cable Is hidden and mission accomplished.Overall, the product is made well and works as advertised.Even comes with the 2 screws to mount the plate.

Damaged, missing mounting bracket.
According to the instructions this cable routing plate is supposed to mount to their mounting plate bracket. My package only had the plate and 2 screws - no mounting bracket or hardware. Looks like I'll have to get creative with installing this. Also, the plate looks used because not only is it dirty and scratched up, but there are cracks around each screw hole from over-tightening.

Simple and works great
I have installed a total of six of these in my current and last house. Works great for cable management. Simple to install, just have to use anchors in your drywall if you don't use a box within the wall. Its easier to just drywall anchors, just don't cut too much drywall away or you'll be forced to use a box.I used anchors because I wanted this unit to be next to the cable jack on my wall, just made it look better and it was a better location than installing above or below with a box. The opening requires cutting drywall very close to the anchors, you will likely need an anchor with wings to secure behind the wall instead of screw in anchors.Either way, great for cable management and simple to install.

Over Priced For What You Get.
Should Really Come With A Mounting Bracket for the price. Picture does clearly show a one gang mounting bracket. Did not come with one and so it's of no use until I can source the appropriate mounting bracket. NOTE: They do sell the same plate along with an included mounting bracket. Too bad it never showed up when I first searched for this product. Look for "DataComm Electronics 45-6001-WH-S 1-Gang Recessed Low Voltage Cable Plate with Bracket - White". Oh well.

Works great and easy to install.
I bought this outlet to use for where my cable line comes out the wall. The back of my couch butted up to the one originally installed by the cable guy. Eventually 2 things would have happened. Either I would have torn my couch or the cable would have snapped. Either outcome wasn't very desirable for me. I got this, put this in the wall and attached the cable. Now my couch is flush with the wall and all is good in the world. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to hide cables or solve a problem like I had.

It work as advertised
Surprisingly very easy to install. Just need to cut a hole into your dry wall on the top and on the bottom, make sure not to big.Due to insulation f8ahing the wire could be tricky, as a matter of fack f8ahing the wire is a lot harder then installing this device.Regular plastic, average thickness, feel freagile, i feel the price a bit to high.

Nice Simple Cover Plate Solution
The product was easy to install for a handyman. The passages were large enough to pass at least 3 cables through easily. However the installation diagram shows a metal wall bracket that the cover plate screws into. This bracket is not included and I have never seen one anywhere. I used small wood screws to hold the cover to the lathe behind my plaster. If your willing to look for the bracket or find a work-around this is a good solution.

Buen producto
