A Treat to Use in Any Kitchen
There's no way that I was going to spend the $$$ for a glazed Dutch Oven from Le Creuset or Staub. At a fraction of the price, you get a finely made and versatile cooking vessel from a company with more than 100 years of experience. From a whole chicken, to briskets to soups, our little red oven has done the job.If you've never used one, it takes some time to figure out how it will cook in your oven or stovetop. And it is not light. If your a lightweight cookware household, be prepared to always use two hands. Especially with a few pounds of stew meat!My only complaint is that the proximity to med-high/high heat seems to have altered the red color to become a lot more burgundy. I assume that this is just normal with age. Make sure you have some good silicon grips or handle holders nearby because this thing holds heat for a long time. It's not hard to clean, but TBH, it's not as easy as most of the other things in our kitchen. Just know that you will need a little more patience so not to ruin the ceramic interior or exteriors.Absolutely recommend anyone looking for a Dutch Oven to give this jem a try.

On par with Le Creuset
I wanted an oval Dutch oven so I could both bake bread and roast a chicken/turkey. This is a well though out design with huge handles that make it easy to grip when using pot holders. Some larger, more expensive options don't have an enamel interior coating and I didn't want to get into seasoning this pot. The cast iron distributes heat evenly but I like having the oval so that the outer edges stay out of the direct flame. When cooking skin on chicken thighs it is great to be able to move the first ones to the edges so they don't over cook. This Dutch oven is very heavy so consider that when purchasing. The lid fits properly and the packaging was handled properly. You will pass this on to future generation. This was $300 to $500 cheaper than similar models.

Quality, Versatile, Easy Cleanup, For A Better Price. A Gift That Could Last A Lifetime!
I love this Dutch oven! The first item I made after receiving this was Julia Child’s beef bourguignon recipe and it was amazing. I seared the meat on the electric stove in this dish, browned onions and flavorings in it, and then the whole recipe in this dish went in the oven at 450 for a brief time, then the temp was reduced to a simmer for a longer period. The meat was moist and delicious. Heat transferred evenly to the parts of the dish that were not on the electric coils on the stove. All of the seared and baked-on juices were easy to clean off. (A couple of small stubborn spots were easily removed with baking soda.) I bought the white dish and there is no discoloration thus far.My second recipe was Julia’s whole roasted chicken. Again I seared the whole chicken on all sides until golden, right in this dish, and then the whole thing went right from stove top to oven, covered. Best chicken I’ve ever made. Again great cleanup, and the versatility of being able to use just this one dish is less complicated. This is a high-quality dutch oven at a better price and the oval shape fits a 4-pound whole chicken with room to spare. It would make a great gift that you could expect to have in your kitchen for a lifetime with proper care. I like this so much that I plan to purchase more pieces!

Weighs a TON!
This is beautiful but not for the faint of heart! It’s very very heavy. Buyer beware.

but it is heavy and looks good, Unfortunately
I haven't used it yet, but it is heavy and looks good, Unfortunately, the the enamel on the lid appears to be chipped in 2 places right out the box (see pics). I also purchased the 7.5 quart round dutch oven and am going to check that closely when I open it.If both are chipped then I am going to return them. If only this lid is chipped then I will probably keep them both. Going to use it in 2 days time then I will update the review.UPDATE 11/19/2017: I have used this a few times now, and it works well. Cleans up easily and no additional chips. The enamel coating appears to be holding up well. I will revise the review from 1 to 3 stars and would have rated it higher if it had arrived in perfect condition.UPDATE 11/26/2018: We have used this multiple times in the past year and it holds up well. The enamel has not chipped off since I received the product (other than the chipped off enamel on the lid on receipt). It has not stained on the inside and I have also used it on a glass top range - just be careful not to use it on high as it may crack the glass top. Upgrading the rating to 4 stars.

Great cookware
Very heavy and solid. Enamel has not chipped or had any problems. Easy to clean. Have baked many a thing in it and had no issues.
