Good for houseplant drainage / decoration
When I got this, it was retailing for around £4 which seemed like really good value.I got this to use as drainage in my houseplants that I was repotting and it's great for this purpose - it's also good for using decoratively if a,narural look is desired.I also have 3 fish tanks - after seeing this I'd be happy to use this in my tanks. My third tank is quite small and this 1 bag would be plenty for the base. My larger tanks would need more like six bags.

Great for my wee pots
Good value for money as used these as drainage stones in the bottom of my wee hanging pots before putting the compost in as lavender doesn’t like being too wet. Purchased this a couple of times as it’s perfect for what I use it for but don’t expect fast delivery as it’s likely to arrive from overseas!

A natural base for any water
This is by far the most natural base you can use in your aquariums. My hobby involves aquascaping, (normally with specialist soils). After trying nutrisoil, and ending up with detrimental effects from far too many water column nutrients that my plants could keep up with, I decided to move back to pea gravel for my smaller tank only. I have had fabulous results in the past with natural water gravel. The key is to find one as natural as possible. This is to ensure the weather, water, dirt, and rock erosion sequences have taken place over time. Yes it arrives dirty, but that's because it's 'natural' and has set into the rock as its supposed to do. This benefits root feeders, (with added help using root tabs as the natural dirt isn't strong enough like soils), and also helps keep the nutrients at bay in water column for other stem plants. It provides a base for excess food and fish waste to seep through and convert into nutrients too. All the while this takes place, regular water changes (and a good filter) are still needed but not as many as with soils. The gravel isn't sharp so my Albino Corys love rooting in it and my bettas loves hanging out at the bottom to spot any wiggly bloodworm. They couldn't do it with soil with it being a blanket of black or brown soil. My opinion? Great natural option. And fish love it.

Brilliant for the price!
The media could not be loaded. I bought 2 bags and for the price it's fantastic. I only have a small tank and I only used half of one back if that.
