One of the best controllers I've ever used/worth the full price
First off, you don't need this controller to play Amazon Luna. Before I purchased this, I used a DualShock 4 and Xbox One controller (both using Bluetooth on PC and had no input lag). You receive a Luna controller, printed materials and 2 Amazon Basics Industrial Alkaline batteries in a cool little box. I would have preferred if they also threw in a cheap 6ft. Amazon Basics USB type C cable, especially for $69.99, but it's still one of the very best gamepads I've ever used. That's not sarcasm or overrating it either. It's THAT good. At first, it feels a bit too small in the hands but after one game, I found it actually fit perfectly. It's essentially the same design as a Microsoft Xbox One controller and a Nintendo Switch Pro controller but it's better, in my opinion. I'd love to know who designed it. On the back it's pretty bare with the exception of the Amazon logo embossed on the battery cover. It has a 3.5mm auxiliary input for headphones/headsets which is a huge plus. It can be used with Amazon's Cloud Direct service to connect to their servers for zero input latency as well as allowing you to switch from one device to another without skipping a beat! To do this, you'll need to download the Luna Controller app on iOS or Android. I used the Android app and found the set-up process to be very easy and straightforward. You can also use Bluetooth to wirelessly connect it to a PC or Fire TV (including the Fire TV stick). Lastly, you can connect it to a PC using a USB type C cable. If you have a Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, you can use both the Cloud Direct service AND Bluetooth! With that you can control the Fire TV with the gamepad (instead of the remote) and as soon as you jump into the Luna app, it will instantly switch over to Cloud Direct to minimize input latency! And that's what makes this so much better than the old Google Stadia gamepad. Even though that was a decent controller (it was rechargeable), it could only be used wirelessly by connecting to Google's now dead servers. Now it can only be used with a USB cable and even then I have trouble getting some of the buttons to work on certain games and emulators. No, the Luna controller is better in every way. I also want to point out that this controller DOES HAVE RUMBLE/FORCE FEEDBACK. When it first came out, some reviewers complained that it didn't. The only con is battery life; it's not good. With a brand new pair of Energizer alkaline batteries, I got around 12 hours of battery life. For comparison, the Xbox One controller using alkaline batteries gets around 30 hours. Now maybe it's because it connects to Wi-Fi and utilizes pretty strong rumble motors. I'm not sure. But that was my result. I will next try some Panasonic Eneloop Pro rechargable batteries and update this review as soon as I get that result. In conclusion, if you play Luna a lot or plan to, it's definitely worth getting this controller! It's worth the $69.99 in my opinion if you really enjoy Amazon Luna (which I do) but if not, I would wait till the next sale. Especially if it comes up for $39.99 (if it ever happens again). At that price I'd buy another! I really love this controller. I can't say it enough.

Works Great on Samsung TV and Mac
I’ve been using the official Luna wireless controller on my Samsung TV and I’ve also connected it to my Mac, and it’s been a great experience on both. Setup was straightforward, and once it’s paired it’s been reliable and easy to jump into a session. The controller itself feels high quality. It’s comfortable to hold for longer play sessions, the buttons are responsive, and the thumbsticks feel precise. The triggers have a smooth pull, and nothing feels mushy or cheap. It also feels sturdy without being overly heavy. What I like most is that it’s been consistent. On both the TV and my Mac, it has stayed connected well and I haven’t had random dropouts or annoying reconnect issues. Overall, it does exactly what you want a controller to do: it works, it feels good, and it makes playing on Luna simple.

Solid, Feels Good, Works Well. Should ID itself on network.
The controller is solid, feels good in the hands, and functions quite well with no noticeable lag. It functions to control my Fire Cube in normal mode, and switches to Wifi when I start the Luna app, taking several seconds to do so. Once in Wifi, it works well in games, yet still controls the Fire Cube by voice (Alexa). All-in-all, I'm pretty pleased with the device. One minor flaw is that the markings on the buttons are a little difficult to see for those of us with "old eyes" in dim light (it's always dim when I'm gaming!) I also wish it was rechargeable. I haven't used it enough to wear out the batteries yet though, so that may not be much of an issue. However, based on other controllers, I initially assumed the USB port was for recharging. It's not. 04/01/2023: After writing a review yesterday, berating this device for failing at 11 months, an Amazon tech called me this morning asking for additional troubleshooting. We spent about a half hour going through stuff to no avail. It simply would not connect to my network anymore. Afterwards, I dug into my network settings and discovered I'd blocked a device which showed on my network as "UNKNOWN". So I un-blocked that and tried again, and this time it connected to my network. All my other Amazon devices (and I've got many) identify themselves as "Amazon-" followed by part of the MAC address. So when this one didn't, and my router told me that "UNKNOWN" was connecting, I must have told it to block. So while the blocking was on me, I maintain that if it had identified itself as an Amazon device, I'd have figured out which one and not blocked it. While the tech did not identify the exact issue (how could she - it's MY network!), her efforts were kind, patient, and in the end led me to the actual solution. So big kudos to her! And to Amazon for taking the time to contact me when I'd pretty much given up on this device

Luna Service Integration Outstanding And Can Be Used Plugged In Or Wireless
This is a review of the Luna Controller, not the service. The controller is the standard XBox style controller. It can use either D or X input depending on circumstance, and the controller interfaces with the USB HID easily. The one annoyance is that if you are going to use Bluetooth on a PC, you have to download a driver for it which is not made apparently obvious. However, if you are going to use the Luna service, directly connecting to your PC is unnecessary as talked about below. In order to use this controller via Wifi, you either need an Echo or Fire TV for automatic setup or the Luna app that works on either Android or IOS. I do have an Echo, and when turning on the controller, the controller immediately mapped to the Echo's wifi without having to do anything. I set up the app anyway on my phone to play Bluetooth games there, and it only took one pass to setup with the app. The controller functions just like any other wireless or USB-C wired controller when not using the Luna service. There is automatic profiling in RetroArch at this point, so it is safe to say that even 3rd party program recognize this controller's longevity. However, the main point of the controller is to integrate with the Luna Service. On any device that you are signed into that is compatible with Luna (Chrome, the Luna Desktop App, a recent Fire tablet, or a Fire TV), the controller automatically detects the running of Luna and maps to it. The controller itself does not need setup and the buttons are already present and mapped to the right ones for any seen game on the service without you needing to intervene. The responsiveness of the controller under non-cloud circumstances is fast enough that wireless is a viable option even in trigger-fast games. I did not detect any advantage to using this controller wired. For Luna Service games, the controller is as good as your connection with the Service. Despite having really good internet, I could definitely tell input lag spikes and missed inputs on Lumines which make the playing experience a bit frustrating. That said, for casual games or ones that are not input perfect, this controller works well with the Luna service and the problems you face are due to the Luna service and not the controller itself. There is one physical flaw that I saw, which is the joystick mold leaves ends to the right which are easily seen and felt. Hopefully this wears down in time, but it still is a fine controller with good grips.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Casual Gaming with Ease
I purchased the Luna Controller to upgrade my streaming setup and explore cloud gaming without a dedicated console. Intended use: Casual cloud gaming through Amazon Luna. Limitations: Luna requires a solid internet connection, and game availability depends on subscriptions and supported titles. This setup is better suited for casual gaming rather than competitive or fast-paced games. Overall experience: Switching between streaming and gaming is seamless, and setup was straightforward. As a streaming device, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max performs very well, with Luna adding optional versatility. Conclusion: This bundle is a good option for users who want a fast 4K streaming device and are interested in trying cloud gaming without investing in a console.

Planned obsolescence
I'm not as impressed as some regarding the quality of the luna controller. I've bought 2, one on sale at 40% off and one full price. The only thing I can do is relate my experience with them. At first it seemed like the controller was great, but it kept dropping off the signal, and of course this would happen in a battle of some kind. But in short order the trigger buttons, especially the right one, were unresponsive and/would actually stick, but without sticking, the button was functional but stuck on (firing continuously). Then stick drifting started on the left side followed by the right, no game utilities could fix this. Controller one down, in three months I had a blue paperweight. So I started using the second one that I ordered when the first one showed signs of malfunction and within three months I had another blue paperweight. The signal dropping from the devices is not due to my hardware as these are the only devices that have ever done that. I also feel like the rumble motors are too strong. I replaced the second Luna controller with an Xbox controller and the difference is quite noticeable, easier to set up, lighter, no hand numbing vibration, very smooth and responsive sticks, easy stick button, and after 5 weeks of 5 hours a day of first person shooters, I've not once lost a signal and no other problems have occurred. Considering the price tag, I would recommend skipping this brand and purchasing an alternative with a better track record. Two controllers in six months, now blue paperweights, at full price that's $250 a year just to have a video game controller that functions properly. I also have old Xbox and PlayStation controllers, like 10+ years old, that still function perfectly, so to say that I'm disappointed in the quality is an understatement.

Just some info for those to whom it may it interest.
Hopefully this will help someone out before they decide whether to purchase the Luna Controller or not. I purchased the controller with the intention of using it to play via the Amazon Luna gaming app on my Fire HD8 tablet. Upon arrival everything was sealed and looked wonderful. It came with a small pamphlet that had simple, easy to understand instructions for various ways to connect the controller.. It can connect via Bluetooth, WiFi, and I believe a couple other options.. So I was surprised when I was unable to connect my controller. The pamphlet also had some troubleshooting info, so I tried them out, but failed to connect to my apartment building's wifi. I also was having trouble connecting the controller to my Fire HD8 tablet with Bluetooth as well.. Despite having an Echo Dot usually connected to the tablet with Bluetooth. (I disconnected it before attempting with the controller). After about 2 hours of failed troubleshooting, searching online, and tinkering with possible fixes, I was frustrated enough I decided to go ahead and contact Amazon's customer support. However I was dumbfounded when upon clicking the "start chat" option in my Fire HD8's web browser, I was immediately redirected to Amazon's Shopping app in Android's Google store. Which can't be downloaded from any of their Fire tablets since they use Amazon's own Operating System, separate from iOS or Android. My Fire tablet can only download from the paltry few apps available on their own App store. Unfortunately after extensive searching and trying everything I could, I was always instructed to use a device with iOS or android in order to open a customer support ticket. Even if I'm trying to open a ticket specifically for the Fire HD8, which I also tried. Apparently its impossible to get customer support help using Amazon's own Operating System on their own product. They actually require you to use a 3rd party device in order to contact support at all. Currently with my living situation, I do not own a working phone anymore, nor do I have a laptop. The Fire HD8 tablet is my only device capable of opening a web browser. I searched extensively for any possible way that I could contact Amazon's support team, and ultimately failed to ever get help for the original issue of trying to connect my Amazon Luna wireless controller.. My advice to anyone it may apply to, is that I'd only consider buying this controller or honestly any of Amazon's electronic devices (i.e. Fire tablets, Kindle, Luna, etc), if you already own a device with iOS or Android that you can use to contact their support if needed. However, I would strongly advise people against buying any device that uses Amazon's OS. On top of being unable to use an Amazon device to contact Amazon's own customer support, their App store leaves much to be desired of. For instance (if your interested in a controller I assume this will apply as well), they don't even offer support for apps like Discord. Which is one of the major social apps for Gamers. They only have an app that literally is just a shortcut link to Discord web page. My hope is that these problems will get addressed at least at some point in the near future. But as of right now, I personally do not recommend buying the Amazon Luna controller if you plan to use it with another Amazon device like their Fire HD tablets. It will ensure you won't have to deal with the massive headache I've had to go through, only to find out that bizarrely, Amazon's own OS doesn't seem to support using their own Customer Support software. Oh, and also, the Luna Controller apparently will not connect to certain WiFi networks such as my Apartment building's WiFi. (Free to use for the residents here but not public) I can only guess that it won't connect because the signal isn't strong enough? Although I've had zero issues with the WiFi from my Nintendo Switch. So maybe just take my story as something to be wary of, if any of it applies to your life. Ultimately I never did get any help. The bottom line was that I absolutely must use a device with Android or iOS or have a working phone, if I want any sort of customer support from Amazon. But Fire tablets won't work, as utterly ridiculous as that is. I gave it 3 stars though because at the least, as far as hardware goes, the Amazon Luna is as described, and it looks responsive and feels great in my hands. It seems like its high quality work.. I just can't actually use mine or get support help for it sadly haha.. Oh the box is kinda pretty too I guess. I hope this is able to help somebody out there in a similar situation maybe. Personally I don't want to say I am for or against buying the controller. I think people should make their own conclusions after reading various reviews and testimonies from other customers. I actually am not looking for a refund for my purchase, to be honest, I just want it to work and I guess I'm hoping something will change and I'll be able to enjoy gaming with it as advertised. But this is kind of a combined review for the Luna controller, the Fire HD tablets, and Amazon in general I guess, with the hopes things might change. Oh one last thing. Apparently the free 30 day subscription you get for the Luna gaming app actually starts immediately on purchase or delivery.. Either way, I was emailed they tried to charge my card the monthly fee (I think it was $9.99) and resubscribe for a recurring payment. I didn't find out til after the 2nd time they tried unfortunately, so they did take another $10 on top of basically wasting $70 of my money on the controller, neglecting to mention you cannot contact support using their own products and software. If Im ever able to get it working though ill definitely provide an update.

"I paired the Amazon Luna Controller with the Fire TV Stick HD, and it has completely changed how I think about gaming. It’s the perfect setup for anyone who wants to play high-quality games without the bulk or expense of a traditional console. Performance & Connectivity: The standout feature is the Cloud Direct technology. Because the controller connects directly to Amazon’s servers via Wi-Fi, the input lag is virtually non-existent. It feels incredibly responsive, even on a standard HD Fire TV Stick. Build Quality: The controller feels premium and well-balanced. The grips are comfortable for long sessions, and the buttons have a satisfying 'click' to them. It feels just as good, if not better, than other major console controllers. Seamless Ecosystem: Switching from watching a movie on the Fire TV to jumping into a game on Luna is seamless. Setup took less than two minutes—everything just works together perfectly. Versatility: I love that I can also use this controller via Bluetooth on my phone, tablet, or PC, making it a versatile piece of hardware for more than just the TV. Verdict: If you are looking to get into cloud gaming, this combo is a no-brainer. It’s affordable, easy to use, and the performance is top-tier." Pro-Tip for your Amazon review: Since your photo shows the Fire TV Stick HD specifically, mentioning that it works well even on the entry-level HD model (and not just the 4K version) is very helpful for other budget-conscious buyers!
