Orbit 26073D 1/2" Pro Series Sprinkler Riser Extractor

I've had sprinkler systems for 25+ years and thought I had all the necessary tools to repair and maintain them. I was wrong. Last week I discovered a leak in one of my sprinkler heads and diagnosed the problem as a cracked threaded riser deep in the ground, with very limited space around it to work on it. I was unable to remove it with any of my tools, so I went online to look for a tool that might solve my problem. Lo and behold, I discovered this 1/2" riser extractor made by Orbit, so I ordered it on Amazon. After I received it a couple days later, I immediately put it to the test. Within 30 seconds the stubborn riser was out of the ground! I simply inserted the steel end piece with substantial "teeth' down into the riser and turned the handle counterclockwise, and with very little effort the riser was unscrewed from the fitting and lifted out of the hole. I then used this tool to insert a new riser into the fitting and tighten it down. I then threaded on the sprinkler head and quickly had a working sprinkler with NO leaks. This tool was a godsend!

I am a 75 year old woman with limited mobility. A few days ago my sprinkler on a riser pipe broke off below ground. I thought I. Would have someone to fix it or dig up my yard. I went to YouTube to see if I could fix it myself. That is where I saw this tool.I ordered one on Amazon but had to send it back because the head and the handle were different sizes and I couldn’t connect the 2 pieces. I got a refund and ordered this one. This one came assembled. I took it to the yard just now and had the broken riser replace in 15 seconds.I had the whole system up and running in lease than a minute.Extremely happy with this product. It is a must for anyone with a sprinkler system. Just be sure you know if you have 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch pipe.

My sprinkler riser broke off flush to the underground pipe. I feared that the pvc pipe might have to be dug up and a new piece put in for the riser. But, Alas!!! This extractor saved the day. I put the right amount of pressure until the sharp extractor caught its grip. Seconds later, I had the piece out and the pvc underground pipe was ready to receive my new riser. I since saw an irrigation pro’s truck. It had about three or more extractors hanging on the wall. The pros know what it takes to get the jobs done.

Springtime means testing sprinklers and repairing all the pipes broken by the gardeners since the previous summer. Broken off pipes would always force me to cut out the tee, replace it and use a union. What a pain. I purchased one other extractor but it would put so much pressure on the inside of the pvc “nipple” that it was impossible to extract (pressure would cause the nipple to expand and not be possible to turn). This one is sharp and easily extracted my three (so far) broken pipes from the tees! Wish I could give it 10 stars!

This was a fantastic tool!!! I have used others, where the top of the T snapped off when trying to remove a broken riser. Looked everywhere for a replacement, but no one had it…. Till this o e at Amazon. It’s large, strong and works GREAT!!!!!

The teeth on this thing are very sharp. I had to use it horizontally in a hole with one arm. VERY easy to extract the broken fitting. Well made and sharp.

This little tool did the trick in just one minute at most! Used this to remove a sprinkler attachment nipple that was broken off even with the threaded pipe. Took me longer to open the package from Amazon than it did to remove the broken piece!

Many of the other tools looked cheap, and ready to break. Reviews confirmed this. I bought this Orbit one, and am happy as a clam.

Like= made a hard job easy. Almost didn’t reach the piece on my sprinkler piping I had to get but it did. Simple twist and out it came.Didn’t like= made overseas.
