Star TrekClassic Movies Uniform Captain's Sleeve Cloisonne Metal Pin

Overall this is a great pin for the captain's sleeve pin. The photo is for size reference to compare to the shoulder pin. It does have a very slight curve to match the sleeve requirements. Nice weight. Great overall and better than the thin ones from years back.

Great quality Captain's rank pin for the sleeve of your uniform. This is the smaller of the two Captain's rank pin. It is slightly curved to work with the curvature of your uniform sleeve. Very happy with this pin. Silver and gold colors are good quality. Two pin posts on the back.

I haven't been able to find the pin for the sleeve. It has a curves and is smaller than original Straight shoulder rank!

I saw that another reviewer had said this captain's rank pin was slightly curved to fit the sleeve of the Starfleet uniform jackets used from "Star Trek II" through "ST VI". And the description in the listing says "Screen Accurate Captain's Rank Sleeve Pin as featured in the Classic Star Trek II to VI Movies". Indeed looking at the image posted in the listing, even with the zoom feature to get an enlarged view of it, this pin does look curved which would make it screen accurate for the sleeve pin.I don't know what happened in manufacturing between when that other review was written in 2017 and when I ordered mine about a week or so ago, but this pin IS NOT curved - not in the slightest. Granted, the quality of manufacture is excellent, the size is accurate for the sleeve, shipping was quick, and the pin was well packaged. That said, when it arrived I found that it was as flat and straight as it could be.This leaves an odd flat spot on your sleeve and gives the sleeve an appearance that something around the cuff is off. This listing needs to show more images of this pin (i.e. side, and diagonal views - something to show its true shape: see my pics) rather than just one image that's straight on. The single image above makes this pin look curved; that coupled with the description of "sleeve pin" and "screen accurate", plus the review I'd read saying this pin had a slight curve to it is what led me to decide to purchase this pin because that's what I was looking for: a curved sleeve pin.If you order this pin expecting to receive a curved sleeve pin, the pin you get will be the correct size, only flat. (And when trying to bend it by hand enough to put a slight curve in it, there is absolutely no give to this pin. This makes me think it was made from cast metal rather than stamped metal, so any attempt to bend this pin using tools will only result in it snapping and being worthless.) Returning it isn't worth the effort, so for the time being it will serve as a smaller shoulder strap pin (or my son's lapel pin on the jackets he wears to work).If you happen to be a person of small build this would be great for a shoulder strap pin on a smaller uniform jacket, but if you are looking for a truly curved pin for your "monster maroon's" sleeve, I would say look elsewhere as this is not a pin for a sleeve. (Quality, size, shipping, and packaging is what gives this a 3 for my review, but its lack of curve means it is not "screen accurate" as advertised; that lacking detail prevents me from giving it a higher rating.)
