Useful but dangerous, always take care while riding
I bought these because I use my road bike to cycle to the gym and it's much nicer to just wear my gym shoes rather than the clipless. I've been using them for quite a while now, and I don't think I'm going to continue using them. The main drawback for this is it's just not balanced, it's hard to fault the product for that because that's just inevitable physics, but in this case, it makes for really precarious moments sometimes. Most of the time this is a minor annoyance, the pedal just wants to flip, and so it's very easy if your footing isn't perfect or if you make an unconscious adjustment and your foot position isn't perfect, it will flip and you'll fumble the pedal for a while.A few times now at stops, when I've gone to put my foot to the pedal, if you aren't perfectly over the centre, there's a chance that it'll spin and you'll stomp right through it. (Basically the safe area where you can place your foot is very narrow as it fundamentally doesn't have a lot of stability). However, the real danger is when this happens while you're riding. A few days ago I had a full on crash caused by the pedal, it's hard to say exactly what happened because it was so fast, but I somehow unconsciously lifted the pressure off my left pedal which caused it to spin, I didn't notice this and my foot was still in the pedal down motion, so I missed the pedal and stomped the floor, that causes me to jerk the steering and down we go.I absolutely feel anxious anytime I'm pedalling with any force, because if you adjust your footing and it's not perfect over the centre weight, you'll stomp right through to the ground. This isn't an issue if you're going slow enough that even if this happens it doesn't affect your steering, but if you were out of the saddle going up a hill, or in a sprint and this happens, you're not gonna recover.

Difficult to clip in and clip out frequently
They do what they say, but aren't very practical. They seem to be quite difficult to clip in and clip out frequently, especially if doing it by hand. I tried using my feet to clip them in, but the smooth surface just makes it impossible to do it as, unlike shoes with cleats, these don't prevent your feet from slipping off the surface. I bought these for an indoor bike to adapt it for use by other members of the household who don't used spd pedals. But getting them on and taking them off regularly wasn't practical and I've got them permanently clipped in to one side of the pedals. It would've been a lot more economical and c clean if I had to use enduro SPD pedals instead of using these adapters with SPDs

Great idea but...
... can hit logs or rocks when clipped in - the height after fitting a cleat is quite a lot. The other issue is most cleats have float & even after tightening the release tension to max, they not only swivel but rattle when clipped in.They are nicely made, the studs won't shred shoes too much & they are well-anodised. The will fit both 2 or 3 screw cleats.

Easy to install but no cleats included
These clipless pedal adapters are the perfect solution to using your bike when you don't want to wear clipless shoes; if you're just nipping down the shop, for example. These are fairly easy to fit, however I didn't find the item description clear that there are no cleats included. You therefore need to invest in an additiona set to match the ones on your shoes; in my case SPD cleats.Thankfully, I had a spare set of SPD cleats lying around. Fitment is straight forward; you simply screw the cleats to the adapters, in the same way that you would do with your shoes. The asapter plates then simply clip to your pedals, in the same way that your shoes would.I find these easy to clip into the pedals, however removing is a little more tricky, requiring quite a good tug and twist. I suppose this is better than being too loose. You also have to get used to using your pedals only 1 way around, so have to flip them up to be the right way around.I've just dropped 1 star from my review due to it not being clear about there being no cleats included. Having to buy some, if you don't have any lying around, can significantly increase the cost of installing these.Overall, I definitely recommend these.

INTERIM REVIEW OF A GREAT IDEA TO MAXIMISE YOUR SPDs
THIS IS AN INTERIM REVIEW UNTIL I CAN GET THESE ONTO MY BIKEPROS:1) Lightweight2) Broad platformCONS:1) Description doesn’t say it DOES NOT COME WITH SPD CLIPSI saw these and thought what a great idea. I have a Marin Rift Zone Full Suspension Bike which cost me £1500 in the year 2001. It has had very little use since 2008, and now cannot be used because the darling mice ate my SPD shoes! When I saw these available for review, I jumped at the chance. When they arrived, I was extremely disappointed because I thought they came with the clips (cleats), THEY DON’T! In fairness, it doesn’t say that they do come with clips, but on the other hand there is no warning that they don’t. So my dreams of using my bike again without having to fork out for new shoes has been shot down at the start.I still think they are a great idea. There are certain situations when you’d feel safer if you could have standard pedals instead of SPDs. Like the time I came down a black run in summer in Les Trois Vallees in France, with an 1800m drop off the side and I had to pedal round the berm with my tail a foot away from disaster. Not only did I have to pedal to get traction I also had to change my underwear! These will also make riding in traffic safer, and prevent you from damaging your knees from incorrectly adjusted SPDs. Thus this is an interim review which I will update when the clips come! IF YOU HAVE A SET OF CLIPS/CLEATS, these are DOTTORE APPROVED, if not get some clips at the same time as these converters!

Prodotto consigliato
